Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:32PM Firstly let me wish all of the fathers out there a belated fathers day, and I hope you all had a wonderful day. Celine Dion said on Sunday, that when a child is born a father is born and it's so true... just the same way a mother is.
Thank you all so much for my birthday wishes too, which also happen to land on Fathers Day! I had the best time as Holly surprised me and whisked me off to Vegas and took me to see Celine Dion for my birthday... and what an incredible show... and we were sitting on the second row... Holly cried at one point and Celine even acknowledged her and I... thats how close she was... you could almost touch her!
I have seen her many times and each time the show is different. She is incredible! But it's not her music that has captivated me, although it's gotten me through some amazing moments in my life... it's not her voice that has me amazed... but lets face it she does have a voice of an angel in my opinion. For me it's who she is and what she stands for that has me admiring her.
We all need someone to look up to, and she one of the people I look up too. The way that she loves and adores her family... she really has amazing family values. She puts her family first, she loves and admires her husband and through it all they look more and more in love every day... and she is down to earth and has her feet firmly on the ground!
We all have bad days and we all have our moments but she has never shown that at all, well not that I have seen... she has gone through her entire career with grace and beauty. She stood on the stage and entertained us all with witty jokes and sharing the love that she has. She shared with us private family photos and videos and even walked through the audience without security... she was totally down to earth.
So think about who you look up to and why? What can you learn from them? And are you learning the right things from them? What message are they spreading out on the world and is that something you are happy about?
So for me, she has shown me that it's okay to have a career and still put my family first... you can have both and that you shouldn't be judged at all.
So think carefully about who you want to be and why...

What a beautiful tribute to such a talented and amazing woman. I, too, love everything about her, and I LOVE her music! It is incredible! I am so glad you had such a wonderful birthday surprise! My family surprised me with a party (we have the same birthday, although I am much older! hehe), so we both had wonderful celebrations! I hope that this year brings your dreams and happiness to you! Keep up what you do, because you will leave behind such a legacy for the people that you have touch and helped! You should be very proud!

It is a great weekend for me, this weekend coming, although I will be 10 years older than you LOL ... I am looking forward to dinner with my family on Saturday and Seaworld on Sunday at the Gold Coast...I haven't been there for 13 years ??!! So I am so excited to see the Polar Bears and Penguins - new additions !!!

I admire my daughter that is 17 years old. She had her 1 years in high school this year, and her start was not good. She miss all her old friends an cryed for months. Well, after a year in high school, she is doing great. She is an outgoing girl. In the end of her first year in high school, she came to me an say: " Mom, have been soooooo stupid this year. I have not been study as much as I should. I am so sorry, mom, but my 2. year at high school will be a good year. I want you to be proud of me" WOW, I do not want to thing abouth when I was 17 years old. I would NEVER even think of use that kind of words.

Wow what an amazing expérience! I look up to celine to! I grew up in quebec and remember that it was not easy for her. I truly admire her strength! As a teenager, I did'nt have it easy at alI, and I use to lisen to her on my diskman and look at the stars at night and cried all the tears that I could and it felt liberating and I felt I was no longer alone for that moment. What an amazing Power of Love :) Today, I no longer cry as much lol and am Very Very Happy and you know what! My partner is 18 years older than me and look up to Céline on that to now :) Maybe I'll have a child to in my late 30's who knows :)

I love Celine Dion. Anyone that can stay grounded in the midst of being as famous as she is, has my admiration :) It's hard not to wanna go down other paths when your famous. There is so much pressure in that kind of business. She is one of the few that I read about who has always managed to stay true to her values and beleifs. It's a huge turn off for me when someone lets thier popularity get to their head. People like that tend to make it obvious what is important to them. But yeah, Celine is not one of those people and ever since knowing her ( not personally) she has always remained grounded and kept her personal issues out of the spotlight. I love that she has the values she does putting family first. She is an inspiration to so many and not only is she beautiful but her music touches the soul. So glad to read you had a great birthday :) Bravo to Holly for such a wonderful surprise bday gift too :) Thats awesome :)

celine is my husband's favorite, too. beautiful voice. and now you know how we feel when we sit in the "front row" and get to be close to you......LOL.
Aren't our "light shadows" just amazing ! They hold those qualtities & abilities (what we love about them) that we need to craft in ourselves. They are the example we aspire to be more like .. we often "love" them. Inspiration can move to motivation to become "more" or "better" ..more like them. Bless their hearts & yours !

I am glad that you had such a wonderful time. I think it would be awesome to go to one of her concerts. As far as a role model is concerned, I dont really know. My mother died when i was little and i grew up in an abusive home so i didnt really have any role models. Lisa, i dont know who i want to be in life...I barely know who I am. I dont know what my purpose in this life is and I am so confused about so many things. What I wouldnt give to be able to sit down and talk with you?!! Or even over the phone. I sent you a question on the ask Lisa and i hope that if you have time that you will respond. but if not i understand. Im just a nobody in Nebraska. You are right about Celine, my friend actually was in the rest room in Las Vegas, and she over heard Celine talking to her son who was 3 at the time.
She was very friendly, nurturing, and had a friendly down to earth conversation with my lovey friend... It is nice to when all these beautiful qualitys radiate from within.

Im searching for my grandfather's cemetery. he was born in 1904 in Telavi, republic of Georgia. he was missing after the Second World War. in 1972 we got a phone call from Chicago, USA to Telavi, Georgia. Mailman told us later that somebody was calling us but we never spoke to anyone. only my grandfather Dimitri Bakuridze was missing and we thought that he or his family from USA were trying to reach us. because of communist government we never found out who was calling. now i live in NY, USA for 12 years and keep searching for his cemetery and family he might have.
i found out about you from Oprah's show. i also watch your show. i hope you will help me.
i also have my grandfather's old pictures. i can send them to you in case you need it. i'll be very thankfull if you help me to find my grandfather's cemetery.

Seeing Céline Dion on stage must have been great indeed, I agree with you, she is so human and it is touching to see she remains the same even though she is very famous.

Well, about what you said, I also admire people like you. It must not always be easy to accept the gift that you have in the everyday life and taking care of your family as well must not be so easy either, but you manage to do both !
