Australian Zoo!

Wow… wow… wow!!!

All I am going to say, is that!!  We have had an amazing time traveling and meeting the most wonderful people but today was the highlight of the whole trip! We went to the Australian Zoo! What an incredible place and Holly was like a little kid.  We had no idea what was planned for us, and we thought we would just go through the zoo on our own, checking it out and paying tribute to the late Steve Irwin… but no. We had a whole behind the scenes, VIP tour planned for us.

We were met by Hannah who was ready with her golf buggy and off we went.  Both Holly and I are massive Steve Irwin fans, and I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news that he had passed away.  We didn't know the story as to how he became involved with the Australian zoo, but we found out it was his parents and it started on 4 acres and he and Terri bought it and expanded and expanded it to what it is now, which is an incredible place for animals and wildlife.  You can see the passion that the whole family had for nature and animals and as we were escorted from different places you could feel the energy.

You could sense that the animals were happy and free.  Even the birds that were in the demonstration were flying around the zoo… it was funny to see the keepers trying to call them in and they were not playing ball… they wanted to fly and be free for a while and so thats what they did!

We got to feed so many animals but the highlight for Holly was when she got to hold a Koala… when I asked her to come to australia with me, she said… "Only if I get to hold a Koala" and today was the day! And she was overwhelmed with emotion.  For me… was holding the 17 kilo python…. well I never really held it… Holly had the head, I felt safe with the tail but even so it was a big deal for me.

What an amazing place, and we had a great time.  The passion for the animals really came through and you can see how Steve wanted the whole place to be a place for everyone to learn about nature and wildlife.  Holly and I both commented on how wonderful that you can see this clearly.  Its amazing when you experience the passion that others have.  So lets think about it. What are you passionate about?  Are you doing enough to bring that passion out?  Could you do more?

When you find your passion its incredible how you bring it in to your life. Feel what you are passionate about with every cell of your body and go with it and believe that you can achieve anything!

Sending lots of love from Cairns where we have just arrived, tired and still smelling of Koala but blissfully happy!

With love

Lisa xx

Lisa, it sounds like you and Holly had an incredible experience at the zoo. How terrific is Steve Irwin and his family to have created such a fantastic place for everyone to enjoy, and the animals to be safe and cared for...awesome. Good for you both! Hey, I agree with Amy's comment above, it would have been great for Steve to say Hello to you and let you know he is still around this beautiful place.

TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! I got excited just hearing about your trip to the Australian zoo. So love Steve Irwin and his wife! He was a special and gifted man and I can only imagine how beautiful it must have been for you both to see it all first-hand. His passion and love for nature and animals was truly incredible. So happy that you and Holly got to experience this... must have been heavenly. The only thing is I started cringe when you mentioned the python... I love all of God's creatures, but I will only love a python from a distance since I have a really horrible phobia of snakes. My childhood boyfriend's roomate had a boa constrictor and I will never forget when they put that huge snake in my face to try to get me to face my fear. Needless to say, I screamed like I was being murdered and scared the poor thing. OMG LOL LOL Sorry I digress, but your story brought back that horrific moment in time and I had to share it. :)

Absolutely agree about passion!!! Without passion, you are truly not living... Every single day is a new day to live, love, and be an instrument of light.

Sending big hugs! Have fun girl!

Isn't Australia amazing? So glad you got to see all those animals. I had that same thrill when I held a Koala for the first time also. You will just be leaving Australia when I start my journey there. I leave the first part of April for three weeks so will be seeing many of the same things you and Holly did but for me it's just to catch up with family and enjoy the land down under. Happy to hear you are also doing the same. Love and God Bless. Safe travels..........Anna

I always love your blogs, they are sweet, informative and caring. You are truely wonderful Lisa! Would like to ask a question - where are the Messages from Beyond for Dec. 2010, Jan. 2011 and Feb. 2011? My brother passed back in December 2010 and I feel as if he may be trying to contact me. His death was untimely and horrible, to say the least. Please post these months of Messages,if there are any. Thank you fo all you do Lisa.

I hope one day you gonna come to Canada. I estimate(appreciate) you and you seem to be a very human and humble woman. My life is not easy and often I feel alone, Sometime i speak to few members of my familly who are dead and I ask them to help me. I would like to know what they think of me and if they are proud but its impossible to know...I hope one day to see you...

im a canadian french person so sorry for my faults...

Hi Lisa, I was part of your audience in Cairns last night, I was the one who kept putting my hand up, but the reading was not for me... Damn! Anyway, just wanted to say that I do believe, and your show is the highlight of my weekend every week. Love what you do, and just have so much admiration for you, and respect you. By the way, the Drag Queen reading was my highlight too. Well I hope we cross paths again. Take care, Kimbra

Hi Lisa, So pleased you enjoyed your experience at Australia Zoo. As a "local" here on the Sunshine Coast and growing up with the Zoo, we often hear varied comments. Some good, some not so good. Change is sometimes hard to get used to, and some feel that Steve would not be happy with a lot of the changes at his Zoo.

Am happy that you are enjoying your Australian experience. Love, Kerry.
