We all need a break!

Well I have been AWOL but I took some time off. I always feel guilty when I take time away and when Charlie is here I feel guilty as I am away so much, so while he is with my parents in Spain, I decided to take the break that I needed to regroup and get ready for the second half of the year which is going to be crazy!

So I decided to put a pin in a map and drive there, and I did. And finally I discovered that funny thing... SLEEP!!!

I had forgotten what it was, especially recently!! haha Honestly I did nothing but sleep, watch movies and do nothing.  I didn't have to be anywhere, go anywhere or do anything, and it was great, and technically I am still on holiday but I am back and it's good to be back.

I never practice what I preach sometimes, but I will learn and I am going to sleep... as I can hear you all nagging at me to sleep wagging fingers!!! haha

But what I loved about my time off was that I hit the open road, with my roof down and my music, and it was great. I have no where to go and I just wanted to drive and land somewhere and I did. It was the best thing ever.

Sometimes we have to have moments where we don't have a care in the world. No where to be, nothing to do. I know how hard it is in life to find that time, and I probably only have a few days like that a year, but that was the magic moment when I totally relaxed and it felt good!

so what I have to say, is never feel guilty for taking the time off, never feel bad about taking time away from work or the family, because we all need it. We all have to recharge our batteries and it's not easy but we have to take that moment away.

Even if it's taking a walk by yourself, listening to music, or taking a drive we all need to do that to switch off and find ourselves. We have to find the inner child within us and embrace it, and allow them to come forward and play... Playing is good for the soul and allowing it to be free can heal so much.

We have a big week ahead, as we are moving the office back into the house so we are packing and moving and shimmying and shaking, and making things happen... whoohoo!!

Have a fun day and I'll be back later in the week!

Hugs

Lisa xx

Hi Lisa: I am so happy to hear you could take this time for yourself and you can actually SLEEP!!! WHOOOO HOOO!! Isn't it wonderful to have that peace and quiet? A lot of my friends don't like being by themselves but I have always enjoyed my own company. I understand how therapeutic it can be.
Don't overwork yourself now that you are back with the rest of the world. Know that you were missed but we love you always.
I am still absorbing your reading you did for me and am amazed at your ability to be so accurate. My step-son had said that everything was in place for his house selling and the move when out of the blue, the house sale fell through so you were so right in that he had to wait for when the right opportunity comes along. Love you always and take care,
Hugs,
Anna

That's exactly what I'm doing for a week now !
Do simply nothing... I know I have a lot of readings to do, but I told everybody that I needed to sleep on my blog and I have to confess that my bed is really happy to see me again ! lol (It's good to be my own boss !)

See you soon in Montréal ;)

Love and Light

Hey there Lisa,

Well, I am not going to wag my finger at you, but I am going to tell you YOU SHOULD TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOURSELF GIRL AND GET PROPER REST. ha ha And you thought I was going to let you get away easy. LOL Well, I really can't preach especially since I am running on only a couple of hours myself, but I don't make it a habit. Glad you were able to get away from it all, it truly helps to recharge. I know it must be hard when you are traveling lots in different time zones, but it is important to find that balance. The reality is when you don't sleep enough over a period of time, it puts unnecessary stress on your heart and health... sorry that message just spilled out and I promise no more preaching. :)

Love and Hugs,
DS

Was just thinking today about getting in the car Thurs. and heading no where for no reason other than to get away. May head toward the Adirondak Mountains, just me and my dog, there are a lot of pet friendly hotels up there. Cell phone service is sporatic up there so that will be good too.

Lisa ~ I am so happy that you took the time to relax and recharge, you need to take care of yourself as you are always busy helping others. I needed this blog today because I was feeling guilty for taking some time for myself and sitting on the beach. For me the beach is the one place that allows me to balance my energy and clear my mind. Your words made me realize how much I really needed to just be present in the moment and rest. I am grateful for you blog as it always seems to be exactly what I need! :)

with Luv & gratitude

Years ago Maya Angelou gave me the idea to have "me time" but she most eloquently put it as "A Day Away" from her book "Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey Now".

Please enjoy your time and celebrate your FREEDOM!

You are Loved!!

Ahhh... to be AWOL with no where to go and nothing to do... It sounds perfect and lovely and SO NEEDED... I need me one of those and hopefully soon!! I hope you feel refreshed and recharged... and I Know you are always ready to hop right back into the fast lane again, but no more feeling guilty about slowing down and taking time for yourself (and for SLEEP!)... I know I know... look at the pot calling the kettle black... ;) xxxx

I am full of radiant smiles knowing that you were able to take time for YOU as I know this is something that you don't get to do often enuff given your hectic schedule. It is very important that we give not only our body a rest but our soul as well and unfortunately not everyone is able to do that.

It sounds like pure BLISS just jumping in the car and driving somewhere with no destination in mind and I would LOVE to be able to do that. I am in serious need of a road trip to ANYWHERE, haha but there are many things preventing that from happening...but is nice to dream about anyway:)

Wishing you many many more days of peaceful and tranquil YOU days. xoxoxoxox

Hi Lisa,
It's funny, when my two boys where in school I used to make Friday 'Myday'.Many times I worked all day anyway but it was a conscious decision to do what I wanted to do and not what I needed to do.I've just realised that I stopped when they left home and i'm exhausted. It's time to start again. Thanks for the reminder that we all need that break, even if it's just an attitude change.xxx

You discovered sleep! Whoo hoo! haha.. that is great. :) I can't even imagine what your life must be like, i'm glad that you take that time when you feel AWOL because us women need our beauty sleep, keeps us healthy within and time to really feel whats around us. Even down to staring at a tree.. it's funny you should see a stag when you got back.. a gift maybe?
Definitely! Bless you on your new mission with your moving and shimmying.. it's great you are in the comfort of home when you work. I know by reading your book you use to feel differently for a time.. but change is inevitable for everyone. Love you.

That's sooo great. I can stop worrying about your lack of sleep. My goldstone angel got caught up in my clothing when I was changing and I lost the little link that the chain goes through, I missed having it on so much, probably sounds crazy. But I managed to fix it tonight so I'm happy once more. Sleep tight Lisa.

Allô Lisa,

I think taking some daily ME TIME is hard because we are still learning to say NO to something or someone. We all need ME TIME for our body, mind and soul: sleep, exercise, mediation, reading or any other hobby that can make us feel really good inside out. Why should we feel guilty? With more ME TIME, we have a lot more to offer to others. Who cares about the dust? It'll get done eventually or it can be part of our inheritance.Ha! Ha!

Can't wait to meet you in Québec City, Madame Lisa!
Love,

Lisa - I've recently discovered the same thing. I'm a small business owner and I find that sense of guilt whenever I take downtime - whether it be a half day or a full week, I've never truly been able to let go of the worry associated with owning your own business and all the responsibility that comes with it. Recently, however, I've put myself on a journey of self-care - honoring the commitment to myself, my family and my work. It's become very liberating and actually, as I type this, I'm sitting at my mom's house in Mexico, over-looking the Pacific ocean feeling blessed and rejuvenated. Enjoy your downtime - your sleeping - and your soul nourishing - you are one of a kind!

All the best - Gary

Dear Lisa.
I was so happy to find out that you used your off time for sleeping. Often I find myself in that condition that all I need is to get some sleep. I never tell anyone about this feeling, because I am always so affraid that I am turning depressed or something each time I just want to sleep. Now I guess this is quite normal :-)
I just want to welcome you to Norway - I hope our country will shine for you. I was not so lucky to get tickets, but I guess some friends of mine will tell me all about your show :-)
I hope you were able to get enough sleep for a while :-)
Safe journeys. And positive energy is sent out from me to you.
Kindly - Trinity.

Good for you - you deserve some 'Me' time. I finished today for 6 days and just want to ditch the mobile and run away LOL, although I bet I end up indulging in a niece and nephew weekend and come Monday will be shattered and broke again ;-)

Hi my love.

I am so glad that you are able to get in he car and just go.
that must have felt great!! In a way I envy you my love, now that I don't have a car and can't drive anyway. Oh well, staying home is okay at this point in my life since my legs give me trouble anyway. I do hope that the Parkinsons does not get any worse then what it is. Thanks for your weekly healings , i do know that that does help me.

Okat my love, please get all the rest that you need before you head out to Lily Dale and while you are there don;t forget to go to the stump and send me some really great healing energy. Also don;t forget to check out the gift shop on the top of the hill. They have the most fabulous gifts!! LOL!! :D

My love to you,

Mary

Hi Lisa!

Wonderful to hear you took time for yourself!

I have the opposite situation - after going like the clappers for 30 years I find myself at home as a stay at home mum - spend most the day talking to myself (kids at school, husband at work) it's like I am getting all the rest I should have taken over the past years. At first (and still now sometimes) it's frustrating ... but learning to enjoy own company.

in love and light
