Positive passion!

You know it never ceases to amaze me how many people waste energy on something that they don't believe in.  I was just reading through some emails and I saw a google alert for my name and normally I never look but I did and it was for a skeptic's group who meet up and talk about the so called frauds that are around in this world of spirituality.

I learnt a long time ago not to read articles or to google myself but it was interesting what they were saying, and as I read the comments, half of them hadn't even been to see a medium at work, so what they were basing their information on was not on factual information just something that they believed in.  However the fact that they meet up to talk about this monthly shocked me.

Why waste energy on something that is negative. However to them it could be positive and they are hoping to change the world.

My father taught me how to deal with skeptics.  He was a huge skeptic until he travel australia and NZ with me and hunted for the hidden microphones and ear pieces and also listened to the audience members. It was hard for me to grow up in a world where my own father didn't believe but I got used to his comments. But when he came to me and told me he believed, it was a huge shock!!! And it was to other people also.

We have to have passion on life but we have to have positive passion. Not constantly knocking someone who is just trying to help others in their time of need. Or to help others develop their own gifts.  To me that is negative. We have to just accept that we are all different and that we want different things in life and we all have different beliefs.  If we focus on what we want and how we can make a difference for our higher good and for the good of others then that is more positive.  Share the love and healing around. The support and compassion, that is what is better than being negative.

Be passionate bout healing others and helping them to grow. Especially around this time of year when others need hope and love.

Sending lots of love and hugs your way for the holidays!!!

Lisa xx

Very well said and yes, it is very sad that these individuals truly don't even know what's going on. And for them to be meeting and chatting about this is a complete waste of time. For every 1 skeptic in this world, please remember Lisa, that are are 100 believers that love and follow you. Don't sweat it, which I'm sure you're not...it's all actually kind of funny!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Much love, Ashley Nicole XOXO!

I love you. Wow every time I go to write to you I get interrupted lol It can be trying to hear negative opinions about differences. I do it unbeknown to me sometimes as I am use to thinking as I do and to clash can be hard. But I do love people and love that we are all different. Especially though when I have my own passions and am emerged in them.. I think that is when you see it clearly because your experiencing it for yourself. Many people are lost and don’t understand what they are saying. If people say negative things I often ask why they feel that way and I get surprised at how often they don’t mean things to sound that way. They feel a certain way and roll with it, negative. I knew that and have always fought to change that about myself. We all struggle probably with the same thing, but I think if you want to uplift others in your heart, love overtakes and you find yourself loving people, instead of putting them down. Love conquers all.. I will always think that. And on that topic.. I wish it for you always and that your xmas is great for you. Not long to go.. So merry xmas to you and Charlie and Holly.

Perhaps those people find it enjoyable to criticize or tear who you are and what you do apart to "feel" better about their own inadequacies. It takes very little of our thinking, feeling, mind & self to be cynical. It's a substitute for intelligence. It's easier to criticize or be cynical than to "think" "explore" and learn about the possibilities. It hurts the brain to move to something that may be out of the comfort zone.

Being a skeptic leaves room for the possibilites..there is "hope" in the mix.

Viva la difference ! You are loved and so appreicated !

Lisa,
you are absolutely so full of love and light. You said that perfectly, about it's amazing that people meet that often for such negative gossip. I hope that you, Holly and Charlie have great holidays. May they be full of love and light. I am so thankful for the crystal and key chain that came in my renewal packet. I feel it helps me daily keep balanced.

Always with Love,
Melissa

It has always seemed to me that many, not all but many, people who are so intent on not believing in mediumship in general are afraid to believe in it. Not the "normal" skeptics, like your dad -- it's not a bad thing to verify someone's abilities. But the people who just won't let it go, who have to obsess over it with each other. Perhaps fear that perhaps their beliefs are being questioned, or that maybe there's more to this universe than it seems.

Well, for one thing they are feeding off the negativity, like it were some addictive dessert... they truly are, and I think often they don't realize it, it's just habit. Even today, a person where I work came up to me - out of the blue - and said: I Heard That James Van De Kamp fellow is a real fake. (he knew I had been to one of James Van Praagh's workshops a few weeks ago). YEAH, he went on... There Are A Lot Of People Who Say He Can't Read People. What was the point of him coming up to me to try and stir things up? I just smiled at him and said Well Everyone Has an Opinion and Mine is that James Van Praagh is the Real Deal. He persisted in trying to engage me in a debate, and he didn't even have the name right! So I just smiled and said that it was ok, he could think what he wanted. And did not allow him to feed from me. So I think those who engage in this sort of thing are getting fed. So... from my point of view: Kitchen is closed! Just say no to negativity.

I had the same sort of thing happen at dinner - my husband was telling some people about my ability to see spirits...not all of the time but they do pop in sometimes when Iam least expecting them...anyhoo, I got the sympathetic smile from a devoutly religious lady sitting opposite me who proceeded to tell me I needed exorcising....sigh......
Happy Yuletide one and all.....

LOL it's funny how often you write about things that are going on in my life at the moment!! Freaky. The whole skepticism thing is something I have once again started to put energy into this week... after 12 months of just ignoring the sk...eptics and concentrating on my own ability... I'm now finding myself drawn to trying to fix the misinformation they promote... and raising people's awareness.. through what I've learnt.

So much so that I decided I would start to make a little movie/documentary on it for youtube... not because I want to change the mind of the fanatical skeptics (that will never happen) but because I want to raise the awareness of the average every day person who might be skeptical and not necessarily educated on psychic ability... but unfortunately only get to hear 1 side of the argument... and as a result are pre-disposed to believing all psychics are frauds by default.

How often are you at a party and tell someone what you do around readings... and they get their glazed over look on their face or just give you a smile... as if to say “what... that’s not real” and then start to quote terms like “It’s just Cold Reading”. Yet when you ask them to explain what “Cold Reading” is... they can’t even give you an answer. That’s not because they KNOW it’s cold reading... but it’s because they only ever get to hear that 1 side of the story... the skeptics side. Because they personally haven’t experienced it or educated themselves about psychic ability... they automatically assume it’s fantasy.

People HATE being thought of as being wrong or uneducated... so their first impression is to think that if they don’t know it’s true... it cannot be true. Everyone else is the nut. The human ego is a very powerful weapon.

It’s sad really... because the entire skeptical movement is based on proclamation rather than investigation.... they come up with theories on how a psychic does what they do which seemingly to the average person fit.... but do it without a single shred of evidence to support their claim. If the Skeptic says it’s just guesses and cold reading... well that sounds more reasonable than someone saying they have superhuman powers to talk to dead people right? The majority of the general public don’t know the difference... and I rarely see the psychics fight back. They all have their own reasons for that which I understand.

Basically there is a lack of education... and you have 3 groups of people. Those who care and want to know the truth and learn (spiritual/believers), Those whose religious/scientific upbringing refuses to allow them to believe it (The skeptic debunkers) and then finally those who don’t really think about it much and so don’t educate themselves (The rest of the world.. the majority).

Unfortunately it’s the smallest group (the skeptics) that make the most noise... and up until now there has been little resistance from the spiritual side to right the wrongs and educate anyone that doesn’t already want to be educated.

Wouldn’t the world be a better place though if we all KNEW there was life after death and that we are all equal? That’s why it’s so important to raise the awareness of everyone... not just the people who choose to seek it.

Hey there Lisa,

You know Lisa, sometimes I just don't get it either and I decided not to waste my own energy trying to understand the poor behavior and attitudes of others. I realize the only control I have is over myself. I have no idea why people would waste their energy on negative things like hating, bullying, gossiping, and just putting others down. What purpose does it serve? Listen, it is their clock ticking away and if they want to spend their limited time here on earth putting me down or judging me, then I say go for it. Even within spiritual circles, you have this type of discord and this is why I remain an independent thinker & a free-spirit in all areas of my life. No matter what you do in life, always keep a little room for yourself... some detachment from life. Otherwise, you can easily get caught up in the distraction and lose your true perspective on life. Just stay true to yourself because the rest is just noise.

Love n Hugs,
DS

Hi there Lisa,
You know what? I used to belong to one of those groups. Mainly old men with beards ( I was the only young female) but I no longer subscribe to that way of viewing the world. I must say that my inner skeptic it still very, very strong, and thar makes completely believing quite tricky, but I've seen and heard too much to believe that it's all a fake.

In their defense, a lot of their misapprehension comes from the belief that vulnerable people are being exploited. I was at John Edward in Melbourne last month (fabulous by the way) and looking around the room, I did think "wow, there's a lot of money being made here'. But who said that just because someone is a medium they aren't allowed to make a profit?

Sorry, I'm rambling. This is a subject really close to my heart, as a spend a lot of time trying to make myself totally believe that this is true, and people are not frauds (your DVDs are helping). Although I have visited two psychics in my life and they were both AWFUL! Very disappointing :(
all the best

Lisa, I used to be one of those skeptics until I actually went to one of your shows - my husband received a reading from you in which his father came through. His father had passed away just weeks prior to your show. My husband and I were skeptics prior to the show and now we are believers! Your reading not only helped us tremendously, it turned our world upside down. We are now so much more open minded and I must say, much wiser, kinder and spiritual than we ever were. Everytime I come across something online bashing you or your type of work, I take the time to tell my story. Thank you for what you do. It takes such a huge heart and lots of love to help as many people as you do. God bless you and thank you for changing the world for the better! T.

Lisa -- seems to be the theme for us lately, eh? I think its such a profound time for healers. People will soon see how energy works -- in one way or the other. But I do believe that the more of us out there doing good.....will be in the light very very soon. I went thru something very similiar last week. Sometimes when we least expect it -- those skeptics -- have no choice but to believe in us witchy woo's. Life takes us all by surprise. And wham -- we are changed in an instant. We have your back, always will. xxooo

I have read a lot about you on the internet too because I want to see you some day. They say you say the same things all the time and call out common names like John that anyone might know. They say you cold read. They say you trick your audience by beig funny and acting crazy and that you are not smart. They say that you are a fraud because they do not understand. They say only people in other countries believe in you because they can't speak english very well. They say all sorts of things but I see that people here believe in you so I do too.

If people don't believe in you they can just stay away. I hope you can connect me to my grandma and I will believe in you.

Bonjour Lisa,

I'm HAPPY to be a believer. I have found my mission in life and my passions bring me much JOY. I also have HOPE, a precious gift. So, no place for that kind of negativity in my life.. I have better things to do and so do you, Lisa. Thanks for all the healing you bring to people all around the world! You KNOW you're doing the right thing, helping people with their grief. So don't even bother with the silly gossips!

Too bad for all those skeptics who live life without hope and waste their precious time and energy putting down people they don't really know. There are so many ways to help humanity but they chose a negative way. I guess, like a child, they are not ready for that next step of growth. We have to be patient with them but not let them take our power away.

Let's give them time to "grow up" and hopefully see differently before they leave this planet. Otherwise, their passing will be so SAD, no HOPE in sight!

Much LOVE to you Lisa and all believers!

I too was one of those skeptics until I got a reading at one of your shows. Yes the names were common but the specific things you said could only pertain to my loved ones who are in spirit now. Keep up the postiive work Lisa and rise above the skeptics.

Hello Lisa,

Well, I understand you Lisa and it must so frustrating to read this even though you have confidence and even though you know that you are such a light in this world and help others all the time. Just the other day, I was talking with a friend I have actually conflicts with but this day we talked about spirits and how the dead have powers and it was a subject we agreed on and through which we connected again...
We talked about how it is difficult to convince someone who doesn't believe and how it isn't worth trying and how indeed people who don't believe will easily think that people rely on spirits because it is comforting...We also talked about how you need to have a sensitivity that will allow you to see things that others won't see. So of course, those who believe often appear as poor naive idiots. Of course in your case, it is worse. But believe Lisa that so many of us trust you and are so grateful about what you do, so grateful...

Also, it struck me that you spoke about negative energy as I feel concerned in the wrong way. Lately, I feel that I analyse every little behaviour of my friends, who some of them, disappoint me but not in a very serious way. And I finf myslef blaming friends for things when I should actually let it go. It seems like I can't do otherwise, I always have to tell what I think and it hurts others. As a result, I turn most of my energy into a negative one and it is starting to worry me.
So thank you for your blog Lisa as it will certainly convince me to let go of negative things and stop criticizing and analysing when I should enjoy love.

I send you much love,

Lise

I always worry when people don't talk about me and you should do the same.
You are making a wonderful difference to the world and that is all that matters.
Thank you for being you, and seeing the good in the world. Have a lovely Christmas and beautiful new year. Natalie.x

Hi Lise
Just booked tickets to see you when you come down to Tasmania Australia, I really hope I get to meet you and that my sister will come and let us know that she is still around. When I saw the show advertised I knew I had to come along because it would have been my Sisters birthday, so I took this as a sign from her that she wants me to come along to your show.

Dear Lisa,

Whenever someone special like you comes along. People will always want to dispute your abilities. I myself struggle with this as well. Until they can see it for themselves they aren't going to believe and even if they do, they will form theories to disbelieve. Be yourself no matter what others may say about you. Know you are a gift to this world and there are just so many of us who believe in you and support you!
