Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 02:39PM The wedding was beautiful and the bride was stunning and the day was simply gorgeous! It's worth all the planning and preparation and travel that everyone made from my home town of Redditch. Everyone traveled to be with Kim and Steve and they had a great day which is the start of the journey for the rest of their lives and it was a perfect day for it!
We had no plans so we headed to a little town and went out to dinner. The restaurant was full when we arrived and we had to wait for a table, which of course is always a good start, so we waited as the food looked great...but what a comedy of errors.
We ordered our food and seconds later a guy came up and asked me what was wrong with my food... without thinking I said, "I don't know I haven't had it yet!" I almost wished I could have pulled the words back in... but it was the truth, I hadn't even had the starter.
So we were waiting and waiting and then the other waitress came over and asked me how my main course was!
Now I wouldn't mind if it was busy, but all the people who had been in the restaurant when we arrived had actually left and there were about 10 people in there...
It gave us an entertaining evening anyway! You had to laugh at it. I've told Kev that he really should be a restaurant critic as he would be amazing at it, he says all these funny things at the time but putting it into words is not his thing, but I have (almost) persuaded him to join twitter, at least to give people some laughs about is day!
Anyway I wanted to let you know how much money we have all raised for charity. I know many of you sponsored Scotty, and he has been back working behind the camera, but with the money that you all gave and what I matched to it, is in excess of $6,000 for AIDS, so well done!!! It really is going for an amazing cause.
As you know, I gave all the proceeds for my Australian tour to the Redcross, Bush Fire appeal. And I have recently had word about how much was donated. For all of you who came and supported my gift and also the charity, collectively we raised a little over $65,000 !!!! Amazing!
So these were great charities that have been supported and together we have helped support those who need it.
Thank you so much I couldn't do it without you!

Hi Lisa, what a wonderfully kind person you are... I too am a Worcestershire girl living in Victoria and I know how much your donation means to the victims here, who not only lost their homes, but family members too. It was a terrible time, in fact we could smell the fires from here in Lara and there was a blue haze over the town for days and days. 49 degrees with 70 mile an hour north winds is unbelievably hot!!!
I am looking forward to seeing you in September in Melbourne.

Wow what a wonderful amount of money you have donated Lisa that's so fantastic, it will really help many of those who lost everything in the horrible bush fires.
Do you know many of those people who were left homeless after the fires are currently living in tents & it's snowing. They have gone from one extreme to another, I hope the red cross helps put a roof over these families in great need.

Yes I've experienced a few restaurant disasters in the past. Can be extremely annoying. But like you say you can only laugh it off afterwards haha. Hope you have a magical week & weekend.
