Old friends!
Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 04:25PM So whilst we are all supposed to be taking a break from the internet, I am feeding the addiction... I'm so sorry but I will make sure it's a quick one.
We are coming to the end of our trip, and while I can't wait to get back to the US and back to our home, I have loved being away with friends, and these are old friends (not in age) that we have known for a while. It's been like putting on a pair of comfy slippers and relaxing. And to me that is what friends are for.
No matter how much time goes by, you can pick up where you left off and have fun as if you only saw them yesterday! Yes there are times I feel guilty that I haven't emailed people, but thats not an issue with these people I have spent time with. They are not going to hold it against me, wew all lead busy lives.
So for me spending time with our friends has been so much fun...
So while we are taking a break from the interneot (if we can) take time to spend time with your friends and family and with people you value in your life.

OOPS! I guess, I missed the "pray-in". I didn't check the blog yesterday. I took the day off, at your suggestion. Also, just wanted to clear things up. I have no mixed feelings about old friends. It's great that you all got the chance to catch up!
It was the "addiction to blogging" blog that I had mixed feelings about. Lisa, you'd miss us if we were not here. Isn't it good to be able to talk about whats on your mind, for a few minutes?
I heard along time ago that the international Spiritualists time to pray is 9:00 pm. nightly. So, I will still use that time. Please still pray for, Honey the Dodger!

I cheated today and went onto the computer. I really diid need to check on a few things thrn decided to see if you had blogged-and you did! Now I can close up and do what needs to be done before I settle down for our healing circle at 6pm. I have 45 minues left so my sweet friend good night, and have a safe trip home on Tuesday!

hi , Lisa .I would say that when I see friends that I fesait time I jump into their arms their claim that it is their time and how is this happen to see this day as well as when my parent are separated I returned in the past my mother lives in my old field when I was little and when I was born and grew up short but when I'm at my dad I go back to this because it this is where I live in the moment more often. and for the computer you're right but I too must stop, but I have a misery can not go on the internet at home because there are thunderstorms and rain for a few days and I do not know what to do in outside the house but I do plien things I like nature is not sorry it's normal for a celebrity to go on the internet but if you want it is all in the same boat as me and my friends are often Internet does not culpabilse more is your own advice follows .... sometimes I give advice, but sometimes I do not practice my own advice but my advice c, is put into practice your own advice .... thank you for writing to me I am happy that you do so because I was not much of person who understands anything about what I say about spirituality thank you should always remiercier life even the smallest things

You are right, old friends are special, but if they hold on to old grudges, or don't allow for your growth and maturity; then it is a bittersweet effort! It is almost like the mom who insists on showing people your nude baby pictures, or tells about your misdeeds as a less than mature teen (etc). "No man is a hero in his own home town" works for old friends too, when they won't let go of the negative past and see the different person before them!

Lisa, what you say is true, "old" friends have a special place in my heart as well and even if we don't call them, we know there are here. I've been keeping people who touched my heart since I was a child. Some are old now but I keep in touch and send them my love when I can.

yep, yet again gotta agree wholeheartedly. We went to the engagement party last nite of amvery old dear friends daughter. I met my friend when we started school age 5 and over the years we have floated in and out of each others life but all it took is a phone call and it is like no time has lapsed at all ! She is like a sister to me and i love her dearly and for all the important times we have been there for each other. Old friends rock !! i would be lost without old friendships. Love and light xoxo
Sometimes friends are closer than family. I am lucky enough to wonderful supportive friends and able to spend time with them. So cherish your friends, tell them you value & love them. Lisa you need more of these moments in time, for YOU, to rest & re-group.

i love to got visit with my friends when i go back to Uk for a visit.....like you say you begin again where u left off last time and just laugh and have a good time visiting with eachother.
I have friends in many countries now and many time zones and though the internet can be very impersonal it has brought me together with long long lost friends that i know for sure if it wasnt for this bittersweet electronic addiction i would shurely have never crossed paths with them again.

I understand...I am fortunate enough to have several friends from childhood, even though we live all over, we have focused on staying in touch for 30-40 years! It is such a fantastic treat to spend time with any of them...even to talk on the phone, as your history is all there, they know you from the inside out. I love it!

I have been experiencing the same thing, but my friend has come to see me in Seattle and it has been so lovely to have someone here with me that "gets me" ......... I love the comfy slippers analogy!

yes it's always good to catch up and relax with a good friend. Someone in which you can be yourself. And yes we should all find the time to be with family and friends. It's good for the soul. i think you should take a break from the blog for a while. not because i think you are feeding peoples' addictions (you could be, i don't know what goes on here much anymore), but because i can tell it's really bothering you! i think it'll be good for your soul to just stop for a while. =) we all need a break and maybe instead of people relying on you to post daily blogs you could post a couple times a week? i don't know, just a thought. i definitely believe you are right about the internet addiction, tho! i've got it =(. i want to have more real life experiences and quit living in cyberworld so much! hopefully once i move somewhere with more activities to get involved in, it'll help.

Wow! I've just caught up on all the blogs I've missed over the past week or so and i can't believe I missed so many! Sorry, I've been super busy lately and had family come to stay, so not much time to sit on the computer!
Some great blogs Lisa - very thought provoking (esp. the relationships one). You are definitely "the wise one".
I've got the perfect solution for people who are addicted to technology - have a few kids, a job and run around doing things for everyone else - then like me, you'll have no time to go on the internet! ha ha, I'm being sarcastic I know, but it works! ;)

Dropping in quickly to say hello to you! Yes, I am an addict...;). However, I am a choosy addict and only respond to friends and things that are important to me.
Glad you are having some fun with old friends! I bet you needed to reconnect. It does feel good to kick back once in a while in those comfortable sneakers or shoes.
