You hold the power to your own success!
Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 09:49PM Have you ever thought something in a positive light and it's happened... It's been happening to me a lot lately. I have been driving a long and in a calm manner I ask for a parking spot to come available and within seconds I see the reverse lights on a car, and the spot opens up for me, just out side the place I need to go to. Or I ask for inspiration and suddenly out of now where I am 'given' a quote or something.
It's incredible. The power of intention is amazing and it's a tool that we can all use. I simply twittered a thought that was given to me yesterday which said...
"success is not measured by how much money you earn, its the amount of people that you have had a positive impact on"
And it is so true... next thing I know it's been passed on around the world and there are so many people commenting on it. It's just a powerful tool and I had emails and comments saying that that one saying helped them so much in a situation and made them see a different perspective on things.
Affirmations are great, and they can help you in so many ways... and it's about giving yourself the power to be what you want to be. You create your own reality and weave it in to so many peoples lives. We never stop learning.
So think about your affirmation to yourself today and then you have that positive impact on so many people you meet throughout the day. It may only been the store clerk or a passerby in the street, but your energy will radiate and touch so many people.
You know the one thing that I notice the difference in, living in the US, is the people talk to you. It may only be a hi in the elevator or a smile but it can brighten your day up... Remaining positive is the key.
It's a tough economic time and yes people are struggling and losing their jobs and it's hard... I know it's hit everyone in such a hard way, but when I hit rock bottom... yes it was the bottom of bottomsland for me... I had to be creative and pull myself up. Because what I noticed was that, I had great friends but all the fun friends disappeared on me, and that was the time I needed them the most. I needed to laugh. Fortunately I had my saviours in Jonesy and Janey but it was tough because some of the other people who laughed with me, never cried with me. So I had to find something to laugh in.
It's never easy to pick yourself up and dust yourself off, but I will tell you this... no one is going to do it for you. You have to make the commitment to yourself. Be positive and find one thing a day to promise yourself... call it your daily promise.
Br proud of who you are and what you have become. Out of the darkness will come light and know that you can do so much when you put your mind to it, and if you have lost things, take this time as an opportunity to start afresh and quieten the mind and focus and find something you do want to do. I found that when I lost my job, it made me stop and get out of the rat race, and realise actually I hated what I did and it gave me the incentive to find something I loved. Many times we fall in to jobs that we don't like just because we are quailified or it's what we used to do. Maybe it's time to change it up and find the true you!
I have mentioned these people before, reflectmylife.com and I have worn their Tshirt all day today and I wore the one saying 'I change lives' and you know I have gone about my work today in a way, of thinking 'how can I change someones life today... it really works...
Find your affirmation and believe in yourself because you hold the power to your own success
With hugs and love!

Lisa - This is my Affirmation - Everything you said held SO MUCH meaning to me it was like you were talking to me directly!!! I am in this exact space in my life right now - your words just affirmed the power of positive thinking and spreading positive energy - Lets keep spreading that beautiful light!!!
Another quick thought - You mentioned creating our own reality - I have always believed that is a possibility - I have always said and practiced creating our own "Heaven on Earth" - We choose to create our own heaven or our own hell...
Another affirmation for me - SO BEAUTIFUL! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
Lisa... why don't people in England say hello on the street? LOL. I noticed it too. I wonder if it has anything to do with living in a culture that has been around for a long time versus America.
I saw you in Charlottesville. Beyond words your gift!
I hope you get back - I know you hear that often.
I read your blog each day to lift my spiritys or learn how to be more intuitive or positive etc. I really enjoy it
Lisa... I love you a lot. You embody my ideals and I thank you for that and I'm grateful that I came across you.

Hello, Sweetie -
Yes, I ALWAYS calmly ask the Universe for a parking space! It's so great that you do the same thing.

Hi Lisa.
Its a sunny morning here in Drammen - Norway, and i have just read your wise words.
I so agree, although it can seem to be difficult, the key to change is in myself.
I have had a lots of experiences which lead to where I am today, and I dont regret my choices. Today is the first day in the rest of my life :)
Lots of hugs from Wensie
Lisa do you see how many lives you touch??? Your words inspire people to think positive thoughts which in itself manifests good intentions..... You radiate love and help so many people who need to feel loved. You create a space of belonging in the family site and for that we love you back 10 fold and more.....
You spoke about riding a wave the other day and someone wrote to me to say that good intentions are like a wave that we send out that comes back right at us..... So right back atcha girlfriend <3 ohhhh myyyyy we will have a tsunami in the Latte Lounge lol.
Hugs and love and many thanks for yet another amazing blog post

Hi Lisa,
This is a very inspirational blog. Thank you. I just finished my third year of college and it has been really hard without my brother. I have been trying to stay positive but it has been hard. If you hear from him, I would love to know if he wants to tell me anything. Thanks again.
Hi Lisa,
thank you for that, I too am currently creating a beautiful new life for myself with the power of affirmations, meditation and creative visualization. Thoughts become things and that is the pure secret to a good life. To get what you want you must let it flow through you as a person first before it will flow back through you. You reap what you sow is the most strongest phrase I have ever heard.
Your posts are great... look forward to seeing you on the shores of South Africa one day.
By the way I'm originally from the UK and Liverpudlians always have the time of day for one another in London people are too busy to see the beauty of how a simple hallo can change a persons day! it's such a shame but if we spread the love maybe it'll reach the hustle and bustle of the those who forget the simple pleasure .
With love
Laura
Hey Lisa,
this stuff is so true and happens to me alto its weird. like earlier this year i was watching your show on t.v and i thought to myself that it would be awesome to meet you then the next day you announced you were coming to Australia and i did get to meet you :) . but it also sometimes happens in a negative way for example i am going on a holiday soon and i fly heaps but i had the worst feeling that the plane would crash then i had a dream that i was randomly on a plane going to Paris and it got hit by lightning and was crashing . 2 days later i saw on the news that a plane going to France had crashed. freaked me out...
Awesome! Love It...there is power and conviction in your message. You are an inspiration!!!

My kids call me the "parking queen" and sing it to the Abba song, Dancing Queen, so your remarks about parking made me smile. I always find a great park because I want to! You are so lovely Lisa, I hope I get to see you when you come to Adelaide. Love and light, Jacquie
Hi Lisa,
I haven't used affirmations on a regular basis before (although I have always loved them!) But, I have found a daily affirmation in your kind words to me! I will use them as my motivation for my life and make certain I live up to them! I have never had a very high opinion of myself, nor did I grow up used to hearing good things about myself either; so with the help of your words, I will change that negative outlook!
Having a negative outlook and a bad opinion of oneself does a lot to defeat any good that might happen! I realised that defeat and negative things happening were so familiar to me and actually comfortable, that I believe I have sabotaged myself when things seemed to be going well! It sounds odd, because, who wouldn't want to happy? I think I have been so afraid of failure that I wanted to get the "inevitable" failure over with before I got too emotionally involved with success. I destroyed my own success many times! (not always, but quite a few!) I think it was also a control thing: "If I am going to fail, it will be in my own terms!" Odd ,huh? No more!! I AM going to be amazing, because someone special believed in me!
With love and gratitude,
Cheryl
When I visited England a few years ago, I stayed with a friend who lived an hour away from London by train. We took the train into London a lot. I would talk to everyone, which embarrassed my friend. She told me people just don't do that in England. But the responses I got from people told me that they enjoyed it. I had such a good time, visiting with the people who normally wouldn't say "Hi" to each other. What a hoot! I bet they are still talking about that chatty American lady!
I will be seeing you tomorrow! And the next day! And the next day! Can't wait!!!!
peace....deb t/illinois
Hi Lisa,
lovely blog and it is all so very true what you say. In life, when it comes down to it, we are all on a spiritual journey and there will always be guidance in many different ways. We just have to notice them. And with positivity there we always be a better outcome. We all need to listen to our hearts and be true to ourselves. Life is a learning and sharing experience for all of us. That is why we are here. I could discuss this topic all day.
Anyway, lovely blog and I look forward to your next one. Take care, hug 4U Marcel :)
Thanks Lisa - as usual you're so right and with perfect timing! Am in that exact space right now and trying to stay positive. I know everything happens for a reason but seeing your words helps so much! I can usually do the parkiing spot thing too - We always say Look - they saved us a spot!!
Hey there Lisa,
Super fantastic energy lifting blog!!!
You know I love all your blogs but some like this one just come out and grab you like a 3D movie. I believe in the power intention and really do my best to live by it. I first learned this by Wayne Dyer about 7 years ago on PBS. I was going through this horrible breakup along with other major stuff and it helped me see the situation differently. It also led me to the Hay House. So true that affirmations are a way of establishing a connection to your intention. Life is tough at times and no doubt some things can really knock you down. However, it is also an opportunity to start over again and make a new life for yourself. So true that no one else is going to do it for you. One of the best medicines for me personally is creating. Whether it is a song, a poem, a drawing, digital art or music it all works magic. It doesn't matter if you are great or not, it is the process of creating and rebuilding. Creating is a spiritual experience within itself. I am not saying this out of bitterness but just being really honest. I have less expectations of friends, family, and people because when you have an expectation you set yourself up for disappointment. If someone is there for me, I greatly appreciate it and welcome it but I learned not to expect it. This is why I always say our pets and creatures are truly earth angels. They love and give unconditionally. So doggie wants a bone or food but really they are just so consistent in their love to us. Animals are not all caught up with drama and distractions and how they look and how they have aged... they go by instinct. We are animals that lost our sense of survival instincts...well most of us. Wow... went off on tangent... good thought-provoking blog...
Love this affirmation and it resonates with your blog...
We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.

Affirmations are truly amazing tools. I am an elementary school teacher and I took a workshop on affirmations and how to use them with my students. We have journals and a bulletin board where we share these. I also find when we discuss our personal affirmations, it creates a strong community within our classroom. I hope the students use this tool as they get older to create positivity and confidence.
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow in IA!
Laurel
Hi Lisa
Just to echo what Laura said I think there are regional differences in England. People are more friendly in Liverpool where I live and the same can probably be said for the rest of Northern England it's generally more friendly than the South. There's an English stereotype that's true for some parts of England but if you go to somewhere like Liverpool it's probably the least English place in England. Most people here have Irish or Welsh (or both) ancestry and we are more Celtic than English in lots of ways.

THANK YOU!
Well aren't you our little angel from Heaven, Lisa! A particularly wonderful blog today, which appears to have resonnated with everyone, including me.
I first learnt of positive thinking power when I watched "The Secret", which makes you realise that our thought power had always been there - our thoughts create our experience - SO TRUE. I borrowed the "Gratitude Stone" idea from the Secret, and I keep a beautiful rose quartz heart on my bedside table, which I hold as I think of all that I am grateful for in my life. The heart stone serves as a reminder and represents everything close to my heart.
There is still SO much to learn, but aren't we lucky to be living in this time of blossoming spiritual awareness. I LOVE it!
Many thanks Lisa, for all you bring to us,
Deb R :)
Lisa,
I know it's not a surprise to you how timely your blog posts seem to be. I have been thinking about patience all week. And now you have reinforced that I also need to be positive and believe that I will be guided to where I need to be. Thank you!
I feel a change coming in my life. It's a powerful feeling, but I don't know what the change will be. I just know it needs to happen. I am not fulfilling my purpose on this earth. But, I need to be patient...and positive. I am working on my physical self as my spiritual self is evolving. I have faith and hope and some newly found patience.
I also call on the "Parking Lot Angels", lol. It's fun to try and feel which way I should turn and look to find that perfect parking spot. I sing my parking lot angels song to the tune of Beauty School Dropout from Grease. My children roll their eyes at me and I completely amuse myself...and usually find a darn good parking place!
Oh, one more thing, I received my membership gift yesterday and I LOVE it! The beautiful purple bag filled with special goodies. I was just so surprised and excited. Thank you!
Have a great day!
Robin
