Spirit connections!
Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 12:00AM Yes my menopause moment is over... thank heavens for that! I get them occasionally and then it's note pad to the ready and I am raring to go! I know I sparked off many questions on the menopause, and yes I have been menopausal for some time now, due to a hysterectomy so I am used to those power surges.... oh fun!
Anyway, it's been a busy old day, up at 5.30am ready for interviews, and I haven't stopped since. I am still at it, preparing for my month of madness.
I did a reading for someone who today who had sadly lost her dad earlier this year. He came through so strong it was amazing, I could actually hear his voice and his words... just incredible. He was so funny and I was able to give her the connection that she wanted.
I had to explain the connections to her. In a reading there are 3 stages, we have the beginning connection which is where, we start to feel the energy and start to work out who it is and then once we have made the connection it gets stronger and stronger and that is where the bulk of the messages come in. When the energy starts to fade that is the end of the messages.
As a new spirit her father was using other spirits energy which was interesting. Spirits are like Cell phones. They only have so much talk time before the connection gets lost. they then have to power up again and then they are able to make the connection. I have this cartoon drawing in my head of spirits sitting on battery packs waiting to charge up fully. It's quite funny in my head!
So that may help you understand how I get the messages and why they come in fast and furious or hang around for a while.
Ok I am have to head back to my to do list of jobs... there are not enough hours in the day for me!
Charlie's last day of school tomorrow, he is very excited... 9 weeks of fun!

Lisa, what a great explanation of how it is when spirit comes thru and how they do it., this definately helps us to understand it in easier terms. Interesting to know that they have only so much "talk time" as I often wondered why they fade away and don't stay longer.
You said you could "actually hear this man's voice and words"....is this not the usual for you? I guess by you using he word "actually" it sounds like this is not common for you....if it isn't, then how do you normally receive the messages? Inquiring minds wanna know, lok

HAHA!! Spirit battery packs? As funny as it sounds, it totally makes sense.
I reckon they must be as frustrated as we are, trying to get in contact with their loved ones (without having to "pop in" out of nowhere and scare the living daylight out of us).

I think that they are very frustrated with me because I can do it so easily, but do not dare to or don't trust it completely.
I will start to do it a little more as time goes by and I get more comfortable, I think.

Oh boy, am I going to be one frustrated spirit! I currently spend about 2 hours talking to my (interstate) sisters on the phone, so how am I going to tell them everything if I'm on limited time as a spirit! lol It won't be easy for me I can tell you! :)
A Question:
I once felt a VERY strong spiritual energy around me (I can only describe it as a strong energy of the most pure, unconditional love and goodness, embracing me inside a huge invisible bubble). I stood there completely paralized with awe and after doing a mental pinch test, thought to myself "I can't deny that this is real". I felt the energy pull back and then come forward around me again. It was quite overwhelming at the time, (because I had not learnt as much as i have now about spirit) and so I said to it (in my mind) "I'm not ready yet". It then pulled back and went away. It was such an emotional experience that I had involuntary tears running down my face (although I was not trying to cry). The whole experience lasted 20-30 seconds, but it was like nothing I've ever experienced before. Now that I have learnt more (and am still learning) about psychic & paranormal matters, I would give anything to have that experience again, so I can try to communicate with the energy. Lisa, do you or any commentors have any idea what or who it was that I encountered (some have said it was God or an angel - I don't know) AND how I can connect with them again. It hasn't happened again since, although I have seen a number of orbs/spirit lights in my bedroom over the past few years. Does anyone have any idea? I'd really appreciate some feedback.

Thanks for being so open about your work most mediums are not as "accessible" as yourself. The information you give in your blog, the insights, help people to understand how spirit and mediums work. People can understand that it's a genuine process and not magic powers nor fakery.

I have been open and fascinated with the paranormal for many years so why do I find it hard to connect with anyone? Boy, there must be a huge concrete wall there for some reason.

I enjoyed your blog and the interesting questions and comments from those of us in the "peanut Gallery". Along w/Lori, I thought you were "receiving" spoken messages from spirit. The messages you bring through flow so smoothly. In fact, I know from watching your show you often will tell spirit to "slow down" or "hold on, a minute" or use the phrase, "(s)he says....." I often will hear a phrase in my head or get a visual flash. Others tell me that most often spirit will use images or symbols even physical sensations, that the medium must interpret as either having meaning to themselves or to the person for whom the message is meant.
I was a student Medium a few years ago. I was told that I had very strong abilities. However, Like Deb, Lene and others I was frightened and I also doubted my abilities. So, now I "just" get dreams ocassionally. You know the old saying, "If you don't use it, you lose it." I was taught that if one does not use their gift (deliver spirit messages) spirit will stop comming to you. Much like calling a phone that nobody ever picks up. Eventually, they stop trying.
Anyway, you can see our inquiring minds want the "low down".

It is quite interesting to read your explanations of how you connect with the spirits. I have watched your shows and gotten goosebumps everytime. I'm hoping to connect with you in Tampa. My friend just lost her mom (her mom and I were very close as well) in April and we are hoping to come and see you. I'm in MI now, but moving to Tampa in a month. I'm watching to see if you get anything from her. I would imagine that she'd find a way to connect, if anyone does. She knew that it was her time, before the doctors or anyone knew it. She was always open about death and it being another "adventure" that she was quite curious about. She is quite funny. Anyways, I'm happy to read your blogs and looking forward to seeing you and hoping we can connect with Carrie.

How fascinating! I love how you continue to increase our awareness by sharing the things you tell us! How loving and giving it is for the spirits to share energy.
John Holland described it this way: He has to increase the frequency of his energy and the spirit has to slow their's down. When the two auras cross and touch, or come into contact with each other, that's where he can get the messages.

I have recently join the extended family. I am so thankful you do what you do. My momma passed last November and it helps me to be at peace just knowing that she is watching over me. Just another question-
How do those of us who want to develop our abilities get past our fear of the unknown and negative energies? I feel like that is a block which is preventing me from opening up fully to spirit.
Although the experience I had was with an amazingly loving spirit, I can't help worry about negative entities, etc. On your TV show, you have often said when visiting a negatively haunted place "Ooooh, I don't want to go in there!" and then there was that time where you ended up on your knees because of the pain in the head that the negative spirit had given you. Ahh, scary!
We have a very talented psychic medium over here named Debbie Malone, who often assists Police in solving cold murder cases. Lisa, can you shed some light on this phenomenon for us please. I know about the white light and protection, but this happened to a really experiences psychic medium, so I'm just a little concerned (to put it mildly!!!)
