With Will power you can achieve anything!

Kev was very excited about blogging last night and I am sure he has been watching the comments... I know this morning he was like a little kid asking if anyone had commented... bless him!

As he said normal service will be resumed and yes I am back!

I don't want to take away from Kev's marathon bike ride, but I heard from our friend Scotty who did the AID's ride from San Francisco to LA and he completed it... 500 plus miles. What an achievement! Because many of you sponsored him I thought I would let you know he completed it, and he is going to put together an account of the ride so you can all read about it, and let us know how much he raised.

Well I think I should win the T-shirt that Kev is giving away... ha ha ha as my achievement is my fast. Yes I am fasting, I'm on a detox and it's day one... and it's killing me. I can't have anyone eat near me, or anything. I have been a good girl and done everything correctly, but I am craving food. Kev dragged me around the supermarket today... I was not happy!

But what has been interesting, is how I am aware of my eating habits!!! It's crazy when something is taken away from you and how you are forbidden to do something, you become aware of how much of an impact it is on your life and the routine you get in.

I noticed it with food... crazy eh... well not really!

But I am determined to get through it. I have read that the first 3 days are the worst so I am going to get there... grouchy or not... I WILL get through it and I will achieve it. Affirmations, Affirmations, Affirmations!

With will power you can do anything.... (I must remember that when I crave food!)

With love

Lisa xx

I hear you with the food Lisa. Your not alone in that battle for sure. Sending you warm inspirations of strength.

My favorite phrase I will leave you with is:

"Eat to live, Don't live to Eat"

(easier to say than do I know. lol)

Lisa please tell Kev that I loved his blog post hehe He should have a spot of his own that he can indulge himself in or maybe post in the Latte and see the overwhelming response that he gets!

A FAST omg noooooooooooooooooo ohhh poor you and you are right it is then that our bodies crave everything that we think that we can't have. Word of advise!!! DON'T GO FOOD SHOPPING LOL....... you will just end up with a load of junk food in the house that you will feel that you will have to eat once the fast is over lol... Good luck and lots of willpower coming your way... I like will power it gets me to where I want to be (wink).

Congratulations to your friend Scotty on completing the bike ride. A very worthwhile cause and you are so generous too. Have a great day Lisa I know I will (((hugs)))

l once did the cabbage soup diet and turned like a wild dog. l had a headache for the first two days and was very angry at the world and well, my poor husband Jules. You seem very driven to finish the detox and in everything else that you do, so, YOU CAN DO IT. Who needs curries and chocolate anyway.Love Raccaxx What detox are you doing?

Hi Lisa,

Tell Kev we loved reading his blog and he is welcome to write/blog to us anytime he wants - he is actually a very good, witty writer! (now Kev, don't let that go to your head! lol) :)

Best of luck with the detox. Just be careful though, because some "diets" are not all that good for you. Make sure you drink lots of water.

Congrats to your friend Scotty - well done!

Take care,
Deb R :D

Hi Lisa,
Three days!! You are great! Is it a juice fast? The real test was going to the store and not ripping into all the foods you wouldn't normally even want! It is amazing what can look good when you are hungry! I have had a Jack LaLane juicer just sitting there in the box, and you just may have motivated me to get it out and juice up all the carrots I have sitting in the fridge! It's funny how we can know something is a good idea, but do nothing about it until someone we admire does it! What a trend setter! (and good influence!)
I know you can do it, because you are a strong woman! Take care of yourself, and do what is best for you! Be well!
Love and hugs,
Cheryl
PS.Kevin did a really great blog!(I should have said so earlier!

Hi Lisa,

It was enjoyable reading Kev's blog yesterday, another talented writer. He was fantastic!

Good luck with your detox, you'll do it for sure...One tip which helped me loose my weight was cut out soft drink, bread & sad to say chocalate..Every now & again indulge a little but stay strong and drink drink drink just water... It's not easy that's for sure when you first start but it does get easier...I lost 28kg just by cutting out those simple foods. Stay focused and you'll reach your goal before you know it I believe in you :)

I once heard them say on the TV show the Biggest Loser that the only thing that stands in your way of getting something done, is your mind. I find myself saying that almost on a daily basis to myself and others. If you can set your mind right, your body will follow. You can do it Lisa!!

Lisa:

Kevin's blog was great yesterday....he really knows how to express himself so clearly through writing...that is a real talent.

Good luck on the Detox/Fasting....that is not easy. I give you credit for trying this and will send you my "keep strong thoughts" to help you get through it. (I have to admit, I don't think I could do it myself...but I'm sure you are going to get through it).

Stay hydrated. Make a point of it. That way you can endure the three day bit without falling ill.

Hey there Lisa,

Kev is a riot! I was totally surprised to see his blog because I have not been around. So it was a pleasant surprise to see him here.

OMG... I feel your pain. I am going through a detox for health purposes and it kind of rots but I know that it will be worth it so I have to put away my poor attitude. Stay with it and you will feel so much better. Believe me, I love food too and I am quite miserable without my favorite foods. I turn into quite a grumpy bitch and I just can't help it. LOL For me, I just simply love food whether I am happy, sad, mad, and I know I enjoy food even in my dreams. LOL In my 30s pre-hyster., I ate whatever the heck I wanted when I wanted, drank plenty of beer and never gained weight. I was hated by so many of my friends who struggled with weight and now I totally understand. Boo hoo... I really miss those days. :)

Go Lisa go... we can do it!! Good luck my friend and let us know how you are doing with it.

Calorie free Hugs,
DreamSpirit

Lisa, Congrats to your friend. But I am concerned about this 3 day fast, it sounds quite drastic. I hope this includes some type of electrolyte drink to keep your body in balance. Be very careful some of these "diets" are very dangerous and the body need not to detox. Your body has it's own natural detox system. Please be careful and if you feel unwell get some carbs into your body and you will probably feel better.
Oh, and extend congrats to Kev too, I did not get a chance to comment yesterday.
Much love to you.

June 10, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterPeggyc

hello beautiful, well after reading all of the above comments i do feel alot better. When you mentioned the detox that you are doing i was quite concerned, they can sometimes be quite drastic and unswafe. I trust that you have done your homework and researched it thoroughly. Sorry to sound a bit like a mum, just know it comes from a concerned friend ! Anyway, moving on .... Congrats to Kev, really enjoyed reading his blog yesterday. Got me thinking about how i can meet his challenge ..... mmmmm ..... i will think of something i'm sure ! Absolutely freezing here in Melbourne at the moment got the ducted heating on AND the open fire is crackling away too !!!! have a greaqt day hon and stay healthy <3 xoxo
