Friends
Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11:31PM So I just wrote this whole amazing blog and lost the whole lot... typical, and I will be happy when Mercury is out of retrograde!!! ha ha ha
Anyway, I suppose it's not important as it was just waffle about me and my weekend and what I had been up to. Which was mainly having a lot of fun with so many different friends. We are very blessed to have found a great circle of friends who are around us when we need them. You don't have to be constantly in touch, and if they are true friends you should be able to pick up where you last left off... and that may be a year ago, or last week. It shouldn't matter.
That is how it's been all weekend really, and so much fun!
I also asked mom and dad to come to Australia and New Zealand with us when we return in September... so that should be fun. It's my grandmothers birthday today so I know it's been a hard time and it's just the perfect time to give them something to look forward to!
Sometimes we need something to look forward to and start planning for. Whether it's a trip away or a night out with friends, it fun and for some people it's hope. It keeps us strong and moving forward. It's a great thing. I know my mom would have started her diet again, knowing that she is going away and she feels she has to look her best. I must add my mom is not fat, it's just something she does when she is going away! bless her!
Anyway, I will sign off now but I wanted to wish my friend Scotty good luck. He is raising money for AID's tomorrow as he rides his bike from San Francisco to LA... yes that's 545 miles!!! It's over 7 days! I am also supporting him for this and I have agreed to match what ever he raises for the charity. So if he raises, $3k I will add another $3k

He was the guy behind the camera in all of my shows. He was my rock and my savour in many a haunted house!! ha ha ha So by default you all have seen his work ;-)

I am amazed how many times that has happened to me in the site Lisa. I write a new post or a reply and then poof it is gone never to be seen again. I take it as a sign from spirit telling me that my post is not meant to be out there lol. Actually there is one that I am now glad that it did not post as it would have caused a bit of consternation amongst my friends who would have been worried about me <3 but the moments pass and life goes on.
What a lovely thing that you are doing for your Mum & Dad. They have something to look forward to and after all that they have been through this year it will be a lovely vacation. Can I fit in your suitcase please lol (jk)

That is the greatest news that you'll be bringing your parents out to Australia I hope they enjoy their trip as much as you did on your last visit. I can't believe all the places you are having your shows around Australia so many people will be so thankful because Australia is so big. I am looking forward to being in the audience again listening to all the amazing experiences you bring to people.

Hello Lisa ! Fantastic news for your parents. That will be great memories for you all.
It's funny because just today, my mum and my grand mother are coming for lunch for the first time to see where I live. I know coming for lunch is something normally usual, but not for my family so I'm so excited ! As you said, sharing those moments is important and I'm really happy about it.

I have had a very few friends with whom I could just pick up with after quite a bit of time has passed; in fact the ones who come most clearly to mind are two dear people who are nearing 90 years old! They are the most loving, and beautiful people one could ever want to know! Plus they love me, "warts and al!;" which can be a rare commodity, so it is greatly cherished when it is found! (In fact, my motto is: "quality, not quantity!")
What an amazing feat your dear friend Scotty is going to perform, and for such a wonderful cause! Oh, to have the strength to accomplish such a monumental deed myself! I have to be content helping out in any way I can; whether it be by donation, or volunteer work. I have attended many a HIV/aids benefit in San Francisco; it is funny, because today I just came across a very cuddly teddy bear that was given in the goodie bag at the last event I attended; with Bruce Vilanch and Sally Struthers hosting, (amongst others.) I certainly appreciate your lending your name and support to this important cause! Thank goodness the "cocktail" is helping to save so many, but the need to fund research and help those afflicted, is still very great!

Always lovely to catch up with good friends. These days when everyone has such busy lives, it's often hard to keep the social calendar running as smoothly as we'd like. There's one particular girlfriend of mine I have known for 30 years, whom I only get around to seeing about once a year, but when we get together it's a laugh a minute. We always wonder why we left it so long, because it's so nice when we finally manage to get together.
Glad your Mum and Dad are coming out to Ozzie with you in Sept. It's a lovely time of year then, lots of flowers, sunshine and love in the air. Well that's what they say! :)
Lisa, your trip is likely already planned, but please consider one time you are in Sydney, to possibly visit and FILM your experience (for a show) in the Old Quarantine Station at Manly. It is reported to be one of the most haunted venues in Australia. I'd love to hear what you had to say if you went there. It's also just recently been rennovated and under new management. I believe they now have 4-5 star accomodation/restaurant packages there as well. Sounds great! They have a website (just google in quarantine station, manly, australia, and it will come up).

You're so right, having something to look forward to is a blessing. It does keep you hopeful and excited about all of life's possibilities. I am just like your mum, I plan my diet with future events in mind. Sadly, this seems to backfire because I get myself so stressed out. And I often gain weight!!! I was thinking about this exact subject before I got out of bed this morning. I was telling myself that I MUST lose weight before my vacation at the end of July. Then I had to tell myself not to stress out and just take it one day at a time. Oh my, weight loss is my constant struggle. I have all of the tools, Weight Watchers and my own personal trainer (my husband), I just have to get my mind in the right place. I kind of got off track. Sorry. You touched on a sensitive subject to me today...no coincidences!
Yesterday, May 30th, was my mother's 70th birthday. My girls and I baked her a cake and we had a BBQ. All day long I just kept thinking that I need to show her how much I love and appreciate her. It was great to give her lots of big birthday hugs throughout the day. I can just imagine how much you are missing your grandmother. Your work reminds me that we need to appreciate every day that our loved ones are with us.
I am keeping Scotty in my thoughts. Talk about a challenging goal, he is taking on a huge one. The end result will benefit so many. GO SCOTTY!!

How great that your parents will get to join you for that leg of the trip! It will be a bit before the ache eases, but maybe you can get Dad to laugh if you tell him I want to know if you have a proper enough job, yet? I'd bet he's leaning to your side, a little more each day! How nice to enjoy that adventure, as a family.

In this busy world it so very important to connect with friends on a soul to soul basis. As busy as you are you are setting a great example for us all to take time to connect. Never loosing touch with what is truly important.

Well I am blessed with some fabulous friends, I'm getting more selective as I get older so watch out! :) I also have lots of things to look forward to; Jen's Hen Night, Jen's wedding and now something super for September too!
