Smile! :)

Isn't it funny how one thing can upset your mood and then everything else that wouldn't normally bother you, does on a day like today.

That was me! But I won't go one about that because it's not the point, what is the point is how Charlie coming out of school today simply brightened my day! It was fabulous! He had a great day at school and came home looking like he was the canvas in his art class, and then he had mud smeared up his face... to me if a child comes home clean from school, there is something wrong...

Especially Charlie... if he comes home filthy then I know he's had a good day. His happiness cheered me up and we sang Abba acappella in the car and went to the local restaurant to have food and to celebrate his good day!

Kev just laughed at me, and that also was a mood breaker... so between my boys I was happy as larry!

Sometimes just the slightest thing can upset you and I didn't want to be in that place today but there was nothing I could do, but for me, I admitted it. I told Kev I was in a bad mood and he offered to leave for 3 days and suddenly I laughed and that was all I needed.

Laughter is the best medicine. It can take you away from anything. And the best thing to do sometimes is laugh at  yourself... it shows that you don't have to take yourself seriously, you can have fun... and that is the key. Having fun and enjoying yourself and laughing.

If you find you can't laugh, just smile... that smile will be infectious and then you will slowly start feeling better and better and then you can start to laugh. Laugh and the most silliest of things. My grandad always said that if you can't have a good belly laugh a day you are not happy... how many of us do that!?!

So today try to have fun and find the laughter in something you do today, lighten the energy and have fun... If not stick on Abba and imagine you are watching Charlie, Kev and I dance around... trust me that will have you laughing straight away!

Smile and have fun!

With love

Lisa xx

I'm so glad the magic of music and singing and the Great Sir Charlie changed your frame of mind. Your granddad was right you know. We need Lot more of those Belly laughs.
So lay your head on that fluffy pillow and sleep well Lovely Lisa! ;-)
I shall smile until I rally up on the belly laughs.
Have a fun filled day tomorrow.

As always, Lisa, it's a joy to read your blog.
We are a singy family (I always joke it's the only thing we've got in common), and that is therapeutic. Thanks for reminding us to have a belly laugh a day.

Thanks Lisa..You know, for me, i sometimes feel guilty feeling in a bad mood.I find myself thinking,"Why?" "I am alive and have no real worries.." But the fact is, if the world was perfect in every way, which it's not, we would be always happy as Larry?
It's not a sin to feel overwhelemd sometimes, because in actual fact, we smile and love so much more often than not! We all appreciate life and have fun way more times than living in a foul mood..Love Stace XXX

Hey Lisa,
It's great how you are always so conscious about being positive all the time. I was recently reading in the paper about the actress Farrah Fawcett only having weeks to live (due to cancer). She was quoted as saying that she now realises she never really appreciated life. It really made me think and since then, I've been trying to be more conscious about enjoying and appreciating things in my life.

As the saying goes, we use less muscles to smile than we do to frown! So turn that frown upside down! :) lol

It always fun reading your blogs they always makes me smile or have a laugh you really know how to turn a negative day into a positive..
I've been listening to some of the audio from your 1st Sydney show, I feel like I am back sitting in the theatre...It's so great to hear your readings for a second and third time..It's such a great idea to load them on your website for us. You are so amazing Lisa !!!
Thanks for always brightening my day.

Are you going to film another series of your show?

Hi my love,

Thanks for reminding me about laughter and what good medicine it is! A good belly laugh a day is what is needed by all! LOL How true if you can't laugh then just smile.
I will do my best today to not only smile but to have the all important belly laugh! I must confess, this week has not been that laughable. So, my love, do have a great week and keep on laughing. My love to Kev and Charlie.

Love ya alsways,

Hey there Lisa,

It's all good and I love my life but hey if I am in a bad mood I just go with it. The way I see it is as long as I am not taking my sh*t out on others, I am entitled to be in a rotten mood on occasion. I make no excuses when I feel lousy and I pretty much keep to myself and prefer it that way. So I guess when I am really feeling rotten, I should be locked in a cage...LOL. I do agree that music and singing can definitely lift your energy vibration as well as animals, children, nature, and our partners. Karen is about the only person I will have a disagreement with and we are both really mad at one another one minute and then we just break out into laughter. We both realize how incredibly silly we are and laugh at ourselves for being such stubborn jerks. LOL Most of the time I end of apologizing for being an idiot. When you work with men all day, you forget that women are more sensitive...LOL Its all good. We are lucky to be women because we can always blame in on our hormones...LOL. Instead of saying 'satan made me do it' just say 'the big bad hormone made me do it'. Too funny!

I hope you are feeling better today! You have some fun too.

Lots of Hugs,
DS

Charlie ... possesses a gift ... I am not sure what ... but it is about more than one thing. I was able to meet him in Ojai last year ... And ... his aura ... left me in wonder. It is like he sends off the message of Hope. It felt good just to be near him.

A Warm Loving Hug!

wish I could smile, i broke my dentures, and only have 4 teeth ,not something to smile about, especially when they told me they couldnt fix my dentures, and I dont have the money for new ones! But, I did look in the mirror and laughed at myself, made me think of all the people, who cant afford to have teeth, thru no fault of there own, sometimes! and your no less, even though people think less of u for it,whats funny, is at work, they ask me,why Im not smiling? and I just smile with my mouth closed! and say, have a good day!

Awww Lisa, thanks for that upbeat blog. I'm glad Charlie is enjoying his school days and bringing them home to you even if it is on his clothes and body! :) The thought makes me smile and I'm glad that you see it that way too.
For a good old fashioned belly laugh I watch Jeff Dunham's Christmas Special DVD! The first time I watched his DVD I laughed so hard and so long that the next day my sides hurt! So if you're in a bad mood - get out the Jeff Dunham DVDs, they are all good fun!
I'm LOL just thinking of him! Cheers!!

Lisa,

It seems like you always hit on something relevant in my life with your blogs. This morning, I got very upset over something one of the kids had done (unplugged the TV and DVR so I thought the big flat screen TV was dead until I figured it out!).

However, I have this wonderful relaxation CD that I listen to whenever I need to unwind, and after 15 minutes I was feeling calm again - so I put on my yoga DVD and had a great workout. It really didn't feel like I could get out of my bad mood, but I've come to learn the power of a good relaxation session and now it's the first thing I grab when I feel frazzled.

There are so many days that we get wrapped up in thoughts in our head that we often forget to smile. Your blog helps me to realize that smiling can change the whole day. When the loss of a loved on or loved ones in my case takes over your mind and your thoughts it is hard to get out of that, but your words of wisdom do help Lisa, Thank you so much for being you!

I can seriously say i never stay in a bad mood for long. What's the use??? Normally what i get aggravated about is something silly anyway. I love to laugh and carry on. I miss our Bunko group at the old neighborhood where a bunch of us "more mature" ladies, would get so carried away we would actually pee our panties laughing. And that was with no alcohol involved. Would love to start our group back up in our new digs. Thank you again Lisa for this site. I have only been on here a matter of weeks and have made some fun new friends. We are a very diverse group and they have helped me through some difficult times. I, thanks to them, am looking forward to starting a newcareer at 60. I look forward to meeting you in Rockford. Watch for our Light up spinners and flashing necklaces, it will be your LW Family members. Love YOU,Chick
