Excited about life!
Sunday, May 10, 2009 at 10:47PM Even though it was Mothers Day, I actually didn't spend it with Charlie, I think I saw him for all of 3 hours! But we all know it's not quantity but quality.
He was so excited to give me my present he made it at school and it was so sweet he, composed this poem in his computer class and also made me a vase of flowers in his art class too. I actually posted them on my Twitter and Facebook page if you want to see a picture of them. He was so excited.
I had to head off to my book signing but first of all I had to network all the computers in the office. That was a simple task, but I was dreading it... as mercury is in retrograde and it normally affects all the computers when I am around, so I was thankful that it was a doddle to set up! Oh the joys of Mac's. And the internet guy yesterday was going to try and charge me $55 for each computer to set it up... I have 5, and you should have seen his face when I told him I would set them up myself and then I was telling him what I wanted... he looked like he had seen a ghost... ha ha ha (thats my job!) He almost stuttered over the words... "You mean you will set them up?!"
Anyway it was easy!
Then I had lunch with 2 amazing people, who I feel I can now call friends. I met them at the San Diego "I Can Do It" last weekend but I had seen them at the Tampa conference last year. They have these T-Shirts that I love, and when I saw them at Tampa, I knew I had to have one... so I made a bee line for them last weekend.
They are T-Shirts with affirmations on... but the best thing is... the affirmations are written backwards so when you look in the mirror you can read it. So everytime you see yourself you see the affirmation. Which is great and it's how you should do your affirmations... in a mirror looking at yourself.
I think it's a brilliant idea, and having chatted with Drew and Caroline today who own the company, we are going to come up with a 'Lisa' affirmation or saying. Ooooh I am SO excited! The funny thing is, people stare at your chests to read the affirmations! Check them out reflectmylife.com and if you want to laugh, heres the YouTube link so you can see me with Drew and we are both wearing the shirt!
Anyway, I then headed to the Bodhi Tree in LA for my book signing which was amazing! I wasn't expecting to have this many people turning up... but there was about 85 people crammed into this tiny room and others out side too, it was fabulous. So many nice people and great questions also from them.
So I headed home to spend the time with Kev and Charlie and also Mike and Jonesy in their new apartment. It was so nice to see them settled and in there, but Mike and Jonesy have now become family to us all. And it's strange to know that I am not going to be in the kitchen chatting with Mike in the morning about his book, and Kev and Jonesy laughing to them selves. Charlie not wrestling with Mike and Jonesy not giggling at the way the dogs are climbing over her... it's weird but they are not far away.
It's true but families mean something to us all, and they don't have to be our blood families, they can be friends that are like family... and to us that is what Mike and Jonesy are to us. That is why I called my members my Extended Family, because thats how I see them... as my family.
The first day in the new office tomorrow... I feel I have waffled on and on, but hey... I'm excited about life and I like to share it all with you.
Have a beautiful day!
Lisa xx

Hi Lisa,
These changes in your life are difficult to adjust to, but they all sound like positve ones in the long run. It is so good your friends are nearby, so you can still be close, but have your own lives.
Good for you for being such a high tech Goddess!! Oh well, there are still plenty of us who are low tech, so business will still be booming for the computer guys!!
Friends are for cherishing and to be there when we need a person to hear our joys and who will still be there for our sorrows. Many of my friends are gone now, but I still remember the great times we had and the solid friendship that withstood many years of happiness, trials, births and deaths. The evidence of a true friend is when they will hold your hand when you are down, but also you know what a great friend you have when you want to be there for them too.
My friend took me with her each time she went to see her oncologist, because she was afraid she would not remember what the doctor told her. It wasn't what I would call a fun time, but I knew what a cherished friend she was of mine, because I wanted to be there with her. That sweet woman went through Hell and back, and she needed as much support as a person could possibly need in life. She was the one who taught me how to be a friend who could be counted on, right up to the end.
Thanks for listening, I felt the need to share, and to honor a friend I loved, and still love.
All my best and big hugs,
Cheryl
Those Tshirts are soooo cool - I want one as well!!! What a great idea!
Friends are good when family is far away as you say they become your family...my family live very far away from me but in thought they are very close. It's funny how you can find home in a country that is not originally yours but you can feel so at home.
The picture you got from Charlie is adorable!
Love
Caroline

My love to Kev and Charlie. I am glad that Mike and Jonesy are settled in and still close enough to you. Yes, your family does not have to be immediate blood relatives.
Sometimes our friends are our best family. People that we can count on to be there through anything and everything at all times.
Lisa, please know that I consider you part of my family. From day one you have been not only a friend bu like a daughter of mine.
Take care and have a great day!
Love ya always,
Mary
Hi Lisa,
It was so nice to chat with you in person yesterday at the book signing. We had a great time! I was too shy to ask my questions at the Q&A, but thankfully lots of the questions I've had were asked by others. Thanks for having the event and for all you do! Theresa
Lisa... you're an inspiration with all your energy!! :)
You had an extremely busy day, yesterday!!! But, like you said an exciting one!!! Have a Great Day today and always!!! Much Love <3 <3 <3
Lisa,
Thank you for being part of my special mother's day. My husband and two daughters took me to your book signing. It was so nice to hear you speak about your book and answer so many of our questions. And it was a delight to meet you! You calmed my worries about my youngest daughter's "guys" that live in her bedroom. She saw you on television last night and said, "there's Lisa!" I think you have a new fan.
I've been part of your online Extended Family for almost a year and you are as wonderful in person as I imagined you would be. Thank you for being so open and sharing your life experiences with us. I've just started reading your book and I'm looking forward to knowing even more about you. You inspire me.
Have a great day and enjoy that new office of yours. It sounds wonderful!
Robin

Wow Lisa...You are just "swinging through your day & night". I'm so happy for you for all the wonderful people who showed up at the Bodhi Tree Book Store. Thank you for sharing the you tube video. How cute you look. Cool idea with the T-Shirts.
Well I'm off for a bite to eat. Have a supper super night. ;-)
It's so nice that Mike & Jonesy are close to your family in their new "beginning" sweet home.
With love and hugs,

Hi Lisa,
I live in Tampa and this may not be the right place to make this request but is it possible to meet you in person for a personal meeting. I lost my parents at a very early age and only you have given me hope, strength and peace. I dont mind travelling to California.
Thanks and regards
