Reflections of our trip!
Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 04:54AM It's our last night in Australia and it's time to reflect. We arrived in Sydney this afternoon and we have all just sat and read our books and went to dinner... it's been perfect! I think we are all preparing to go home so there is no need to go out and sightsee, we have done everything that we wanted to do and so much more.
Yes it was a trip of a lifetime and it was amazing to perform 4 sell out shows, in Melbourne and Sydney and be able to help the Bushfire Appeal, but for me it was much much more.
It was a change for me to connect with my family. I am on the road so much that the time I spend at home is little and when I am home I am working to maintain a business. So for me to have time with my family was essential. Being honest I was dreading parts of the trip, especially when I am working as I feel I have to think about them and hope that they are ok and then focus on my work etc etc and it's not easy. I feel pulled in many directions and you know it's only me that puts the pressure on myself as Kev and Charlie are the most easy going guys to have around you, and especially when I am doing a show, but I still feel pressure.
But this time I have not felt like this at all. I have loved having them around and they have loved being with me.
The one thing I have noticed is that Charlie has suddenly grown up. He is approaching 9 and he is not longer the little boy. He's growing and maturing and starting to fit into his skin. It sounds silly but it's true. He really is becoming a young man with a personality which is so endearing. You can't make him do anything he doesn't want to do. If he doesn't want to contact you, he won't. If he doesn't want to do something he will give you a good reason why he doesn't want to do it. He is amazing and having this time with them, has made me appreciate and love them so much more.
So yes I have had incredible experiences but they have been shared with my family and that to me is worth so much more.
We head back to the US tomorrow but we have one more stop, lunch with some friends and then we are heading home!
Thanks for all sharing my travels with me, and also welcoming me and my family to Australia, we have had the BEST time, it's been incredible and certainly a place I will return back to again!
With love to you all
Lisa xx

Hi Lisa, Kev and Charlie
Thank you for coming to Aus and sharing with us all. My husband and I enjoyed your show in Melbourne and look forward to you coming again. I loved reading your blogs while you were here and I told my hubbie that we must go to Central Australia and see the universe. It made me want to cry just reading about it. As a developing medium I am now wanting to learn so much more and watching your show has inspired me beyond words. I love mediumship......LOVE IT! I love to watch the readings and the comfort that they bring! Thanks again and best wishes to you all on your next journey. Deb and Family
Dear Lisa,
I am so pleased to know that you and your family have enjoyed your stay in Australia. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to attend your show in Sydney, however I do enjoy all your TV shows and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity with your gift in helping others. Have a safe journey home and I am sure that everyone here in Aust will be looking forward to your next trip down under with your family.

I can't believe Charlie is nearly 9 already! Where is the little boy I changed nappies for and played with while you did readings? He really is a little man and a credit to you and Kev. I'm so glad you've all had the holiday you were dreaming of, memories to treasure for years, I know cause we've had one of those too! :) Lots of love to all of you and safe journey xx
I'm very glad that you had the time and space to reconnect with your family in this special way.
When it comes down to what is the most important thing in your life, the most important thing is family. Business and work support our life, but we cannot let work consume our REAL life.
Have a safe and easy trip home dearie,
Hugs, Laurel
Hi Lisa, I almost feel I went on that trip with you and your family with your daily blogs. You make us feel like we are too such a part of it. How do you do that girlfriend???? I know what you mean about Charlie, I remember feeling that way about my son and daughter too and I still look at them in awe at 31 and 29 and think what amazing people and all that they have grown into, it goes way too fast. You are definitely fortunate to have the time you do to have special times with them. Have a great trip back to the States.
Love & Hugs, Judi :)
Lisa,
I love your blog, and I know how you feel girl....Words dont express the family you have Lisa, and not all are as lucky to have such a wonderful and beautiful supportive family as yours. Through all of this, it has been the three of you working together as a team to get you where you are today. So when you get that much needed and very rare family vacation....I am soooooo truly happy to hear the excitment in you all. That is your time as a family to regroup and connnect, cause in the busy world we live in when you are being torn from one place to another, it gets chaotic, and honestly I am surprised you dont break down more than you do.... Your a very strong girl, and the three of you make a great team.....You three are loved so much, and I think your a great medium, mom, wife, and friend......not many can balance the lifestyle you have, and still be truely happy.
Love you all lots, and thanks so much for making us a part of this great trip....
Hugs

Hi Lisa, glad to hear you & the boys had a great time here in oz. It's really nice that you got to combine work & a holiday. Judjing by all the shows you do, it seems you needed this family time and so glad you could do it Australia. Keep up the great work you do. I have had fun following your blogs & pics and I know as much as you liked it here, there really is no place like home so wishing you a safe journey & see you next time you return.
What a beautiful blog, Lisa. You are such an amazing soul! You give so much of yourself that it is indeed wonderful to see that you are also getting back such love and devotion from your own family and your "Lisa" family on-line as well. You are so loved by so many. I am feeling the love you have for your family and understand the love that you said you were feeling for me when my husband came through. Your comment was "I feel so much love for this woman" as he was showing you what he felt for me. I was on could nine!!
Thank you for letting us enjoy your trip through that wonderful land down under. Having been raised there I am a bit partial to it but you brought back so many memories for me and it made me see the wonders of Australia through your eyes as well.
Take care and have a safe trip home. We miss you and it will be great to have you back home. I'm sure the doggies will be thrilled to have you all home as well.
God bless you!
Hugs,
Anna
It's been so nice to read your posts...I needed the virtual break in looking for a job. ha!
Thanks for your generous heart...enjoy the journey home.
Much Love,
Andrea
Hey Lisa,
So happy for all you! In a way, I feel like I have travelled along with you guys through Twitter and your website. It was so lovely hearing about your adventures and places you visited especially the koala's and kangaroos... those pictures are priceless. You are right, when all is said and done, it is about quality time with your family and making magical memories. It was a trip of a lifetime that not only you and Kev will cherish but Charlie as well. Charlie will look back and smile no matter what age he is because you are both so incredibly wonderful. Sad to say that some parents although physically there with their children every single day do not have quality time. However, I would imagine is it difficult for you as you are a public figure, wife, and mother. Each role can be quite demanding in its own right even under the best of conditions. It is easy for some people to say it all about balance. However, when you are in the situation, it is quite different I would think. So as I have said to you in past blogs, my hat goes off to you. It is not like you have an easy cushy job either working with Spirit. It is a huge responsibility. Well enough said, you rock! Safe travels!
Sending you lots of hugs,
DS
Hi Lisa,
What an experience you've had here in Oz, you & your family would always be welcomed back here with open arms. What a generous offering you have made donating all the money from your 4 shows to the Victorian bushfires. I dont feel that you have been thanked enough for your donations....So the BIGGEST THANKS from me. You will certainly be helping many families & individuals that have been left with nothing.
Family time is so precious so it's so nice to hear that you've enjoyed all the time you've had with Kev & Charlie...
If you've got a few hours before your flight you should check out Luna Park under the harbour bridge it has alot of rides for all ages and one of the best views of Sydney Harbour.
Safe traveling back home & thank you for our experiences that you bought to us her in Australia.
Happy Easter!

Lisa, I am so glad you and your family had such a wonderful time. And it is so thoughtful and selfless of you to help so many Australians who were victim to the brush fires.
I am glad you're coming to your home. I am also glad that you consider your home in the USA now, although your roots will always be in England.
We love you so much,
