Beautiful Australia!
Monday, April 6, 2009 at 05:24AM Australia was a place I used to think about when I was a kid, they had huge spiders and I never wanted to see them, but they also drove on the same side of the road as us in the UK. Crazy really what you visualize when you think of a place... but here I am in a place of beauty. It's really incredible!
We have had a day being tourists and thoroughly enjoying ourselves!
We headed out, not knowing where to go, getting in the rental car and following our nose. Kev said it was strange to drive on the opposite side of the road again, and I know that feeling as it was for me when I went back to the UK last summer. We headed towards Cairns, and suddenly saw signs that took our fancy.
Charlie had been going on about holding a Koala, so we headed to Kuranda. Up the winding road until we hit this little village of quaint stores and other attractions for everyone.
We grabbed an ice cream - Kev had Rum ice cream and was warned not to drive after eating it... ha ha ha and we headed to the Koala Park. Charlie was beside himself with excitement as we had promised him that he could hold a Koala!
Well if Charlie was going to do it then so was I!!! Koah the Koala was beautiful and calm and great... however I am very special as she Poo'd when I held her... trust me!!! And of course Charlie fed a Kangaroo too!!!
Then we headed to Barron Falls... what a beautiful part of the world... stunning. It was so relaxing and calm. I loved it. I was able to clear my thoughts and my head and just relax. Charlie and I walked along the pathway, chatting while Kev was taking pictures of everything!
We have just had an amazing time and we have another 2 days left of our trip before we head back to Sydney for one night.
We are heading to the Great Barrier Reef also, and I am so excited and even Charlie has plucked up the courage to go snorklng!
Right then I am heading to watch some TV... I am loving the british TV over here, just like home!
It's been amazing the wonders that we have discovered but these wonders are all around us, you don't have to be in Australia to see them, often they are on our doorstep. It could be a childs smile, or a dog chasing it's tail. What ever it is, it will brighten your day and put a smile on your face!

OMG These pics are Terrific.....Charlie looks sooo comfortable and perfect with Koah. You can tell how good he is with animals just by how he is holding him and petting the kanga...that says alot about a person :) My kids are very protective of them too.

Wow! I love the pictures!! Australia has been on my list of must-see places for quite a while. I am so glad that you and Kev and Charlie have gotten to experience such a beautiful place! (Even if you were poo'd on by Koah!)

Girl , you are going to love love it. I havent seen it, but KNOW its gorgeous. Someday I will make it there. Lisa I am sooo proud of you for really taking advantage and getting in the ocean....there is sooo much beauty and mystery in it :) I know that you were afraid, but wow you have really made the most of the ocean in this trip and I couldnt be more happier for you. Charlie, you will love this and snorkling is sooo much fun :)

Snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef is fantastic - you guys will love it! We went to Michaelmas Cay and at first I was somewhat apprehensive about snorkeling but once I got into the water amongst the fish and coral I didn't want to leave.
I'm so glad you are all enjoying your holiday in Australia - it really is a beautiful country and I feel very blessed to be living here.

Hi Lisa. Im so glad you are having a well deserved break in our lovely country and cannot wait until you return for some more shows. You bought me so much comfort at your Sydney Friday night show when you bought through my beautiful Mum for me. She passed from breast cancer just three weeks ago. When she came through to you she said "she wore the stilettoes that needed to be kicked off!" hehe. Oh until this night I was so crippled with grief but your gift of being able to communicate with our loved ones and bringing me the message from Mum has been a turning point for me and I thank you sincerely with all my heart. Terrific pics!! Charlie looks very comfortable holding the koala and feeding the kangaroos.....better check his bags before you leave Australia, in case he decides he would like to bring one of his furry friends home....lol. Happy adventures :) ~PJ
What a great holiday you're having! Rest up and enjoy your time left. I glad to read you're having such a wonderful time. Hopefully I'll be able to make it down under some day! I am thrilled that the three of you are having such a great time on your vacaton! Charlie looked so natural holding the Koala and petting the kangaroo! Good for you my sweet one. Wow!! What a wonderful pictures say thanks to Kev for me... After reading you...yes I have a smile on my face...Thanks to you!! I'm wondering how is the fur of the koala...what kind of texture is it?? I'm very curious... ha ha ha! Looks like wool..? Aw...so happy for Charlie! He got to hold a Koala and you too. Too funny that the little Koah pooped when in your arms. It's good luck! LOL! I am so happy for all of you! Keep making magical moments.
