Build up to the shows
Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 10:12AM Well it's gone 4 am and there are many reasons why I am still up...
Jetlag is not one of them.
I have moved from one bedroom because of the outside noise and then
back again because all you can hear in the other one is the lift going
up and down.
So I've spend most of the night deciding where to sleep, I think I've
given up... LOL Melbourne as it sounds, I think has now got the
practice cars out around the city for the Grand Prix judging by the
beeps of the horns and wheelspins that are going on... Or at least
young kids practicing the compete anyway.
Now snuggled up in bed with Charlie the wriggle bum it's proving to be
an interesting night!! LOL
It's so funny how you forget the sounds that you once used to find
lulled you off to sleep. I used to live in London and of course having
lived in LA these noises are normal, and you get so used to them, but
now living in more of a country setting and having come from Ayers
Rock where the only thing that will keep you up is the person snoring
beside you, or in my case the spirits it's a bit of a shock to the
system.
However it's interesting it could also be apprehension of tomorrows
event in Melbourne too, which I am VERY excited about!!!!
Lack of sleep doesn't worry me because I actually find I am better in
a witchywoo sense when I haven't had that much sleep or I have been
sick, strange isn't it?!
But I thought I would just share my comical night with you. It's not
gonna get easier as I now have knees of an 8year old in my back and
'doggie' the stuffed dog thrown on my face!!!
Oh the sofa is looking inviting... Ha ha ha
Kev and the boys headed to the Grand Prix today and had a blast and
Charlie and I watched Marley and Me. I thought it was going to be me
who cried but Charlie sobbed in my arms like a baby when the film
ended, he has now given 'doggie' a little more love tonight, bless him.
Right I am going to attempt to shift the wriggle man over put my
headphones on and drift away... Good night all!!

As far as being more witchy woo with little sleep, that doesnt sound weird at all. By now you know I am NOT gifted, but it seems to make sense to me that that would be the case.
I am excited for the show and cant wait to hear all about it.

Bravo to you and Charlie for watching Marley and Me. I am afraid to watch it because I know how sad the ending is. Hope you get some sleep!!
Hope you finally sleep well, you sounded very relaxed for someone lacking sleep! I had to laugh at wriggle bottom Charlie, my daughter used to be like that, it took me back to sleepless nights also lol.

Certainly the Melbourne Show has been a huge success! Am eager to read about it when you are up to posting...... isn't sleeping in hotels the worst? I'm no good at it, no matter how much I travel.......
I can't bring myself to watch Marley and Me because of the ending. Can't do it! So kudos to Charlie and you for hanging in there.......
What a night shame the hotel is so noisy!!! Looking forward to hearing about the show tonight... Try not to get too much sleep Wednesday night LOL for your Sydney show on Thursday.

hey lisa know what thats all about. my family and i just came back from a holiday in Queensland (gold coast) which was absolutely fantastic. HOWEVER !!!!!!! Because it was so warm and muggy at night i had to leave the windows and blinds open to be cool enough to get to sleep, but by about 4am the traffic started the motor bikes taking off, the lights coming into the room the horns started. Every morning i had to get up and close everything and try and get back to sleep.LOL.We too live in very rural and quite settings and are not used to the noise at night. But i wouldn't take back that experience for one second as the company made up for any of that. Have a good sleep Lisa and we'll see you at the show on Monday night, front row YOOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!LOL

LOL... I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw you on twitter earlier. I know there is a serious time difference between NY and Australia. So I knew you had to be up during the wee hours without you even saying it. LMAO at 'the wriggle man'. That is so funny and cute. Hopefully, he wont wriggle you right off the bed.
Wishing for our Australian friends to get closure and connected with their loved ones. I know that it will be an amazing show!!! Tell us all about it.

Awwwwwwww Lisa, that is just precious how you call Charlie a "wiggle worm"...reminds me of my grandson when he was small and would sleep with me and snuggle....my name for him was/is "Snugglebug"
Charlie sounds like a very compassionate and sensitive little boy, I can envision you holding him as he sobbed watching "Marley and Me"....I have not heard of this movie but sure sounds like a tearjerker and prob one that I shouldn't watch as I cry sooooooo easily too. Please tell Charlie I admire his sensitivity and compassion.
I hope you managed to get a few winks in, lol....I so hate tossing and turning all night and getting little rest.

I hope you managed to get some shut eye last night and that you have arranged for a more peaceful room for tonight. I just wanted to wish you all the best for your show tonight, which is most likely on the go as I type, as Melbourne Aussie is 7 hours ahead of us here in South Africa and it is now 13h50. I am so excited to have become a member and am looking forward to following your blogs as you travel around the world.
I watched a recorded show of yours this morning and was so blown away - it was the reading you did with a young couple from Haiwai, Tiffany & Aara who came to you to make contact with Chad who was her partner, and his best mate in this life. You no doubt remember the reading well, as it was just such a heart warming story with such a great clossure for Tiffany & Aara, who are now married to each other and are the real soul mates in this story, brought together by dear Chad just before he passed on.

Cute post. I thought I would share a remedy for hotel noise and what not. I use a "white noise" machine. I'm sure you are aware of these - but you can find them in drugs stores. You can listen to a sound - my favorite is the sound of rain - which blocks out strange outdoor noises. Give it a shot sometime..
