Finally in Melbourne
Friday, March 27, 2009 at 05:16AM We are finally back in civilization! I have to say, I was a little out of touch in Sydney so to finally be in touch with the world is a great thing. We are loving Melbourne!
We went for an Italian last night with Ryan the tour manager and then we headed out on our own today to Collins' Street to shop. It was fantastic... you guys are not wrong when you tell me it's the greatest place to shop. Kev got some sunglasses, convieniently left the hotel without his!! Although we never bought a great deal we just browsed and then headed to the Aquarium, Which we have to say is the best one yet!
We had a great time.
When we left Ayers rock, as much as it was lovely to be there it was even greater to leave... don't ask me why, but I never slept while I was there, may be I was picking up on the energy, or was it having to sleep with Charlie as the bed were so small, I'm not sure but I didn't sleep and after 2 days I was iching to leave. It was beautiful and amazing and just stunning but I had had enough and wanted to leave. The resort was tired but adequate, the staff were amazing the food was fantastic, so all in all we had a good time.
Finally getting to Melbourne was the highlight for us all as a family and now I am itching to start work. I have been getting messages left right and center for everyone around and even tonight I said to Kev, I have a message for Peter, and then he asked our host what is name was.... Low and behold... Peter!
So the message was given and he was very happy. But yes, i have decided I need civilization!
Kev, Charlie and I are all looking forward to the shows, and we can't wait. I think Kev and Chris and Ryan may try to get into the Grand Prix tomorrow which will be fun...
Anyway, I am heading to bed, and I am looking forward to the sleep.
Have fun and a great weekend!
Love
Lisa xx

Sounds like you are having a really lovely time. We did Australia in 2007 and my biggest regret was not getting as far as Melbourne.
Hope the shows go well. Maybe Germany next?!!

Lisa!!! So happy you are having a blast here in oz!! I was wondering how you would cope at the rock :) Hope you wore comfy shoes! The shopping is amazing in Melbourne.
Best of luck for your upcoming shows! Can't wait to hear about them and I will catch one of your shows when you return to oz and come to *cough cough Perth hehe
Hope Kev, Charlie and Ryan get into the grand prix, it will be a buzz for them :)
Enjoy your sleep and sweet dreams.

Good luck on your shows, Lisa :) :) Norway next, eh?! ;) :D
Hi Lisa,
What a shame your resort experience was not so great. Where did you stay? If you ever go to Uluru again, I can recommend the (4 star) Desert Gardens Hotel (in the Ayres Rock Resort), where we stayed. There is also a 5 star hotel in the resort - I think it is called "Sails in the Desert" - which we had a look around - very nice, but rather expensive. Depends on what you want to spend I guess. Hoping to see some more photos soon.
Are you going to take Charlie to Luna Park (amusement park) in Melbourne? (Actually, is it still there???) We went to Melbourne about 18 years ago (OMG was it THAT long ago!!!) and I don't remember a great deal about it, but I do remember a gorgous bushwalk/lookout area called Wilson's Prometary (south of Melb), which was incredible. Also, further south and attached to the mainland by a bridge is a little island called Phillip Island, where every night about 6pm, you can sit on the beach and watch 100's of little Fairy Penguins come in to shore (then they walk up the beach to their holes/nests). It is an amazing site to see - true nature at it's best! There is also a large info & conservation centre there - all about the penguins.
Hope the Melb show goes well,
Cheers!

Hi Lisa, Kev and Charlie, Welcome to Melbourne!!! There are so many sights to see but I guess time is the key factor.
May I make some suggestions that are not too far out of Melbourne City...
Melbourne Zoo and/or Werribee Zoo and try an Italian meal in Lygon Street Carlton.
Phillip Island Penguins are great to see, {they are still there but it is a day trip!}
I guess you have lots planned anyway, so, ENJOY!
It is a great honor having you and your family visit Australia and we look forward to your shows.

Lisa: So glad you are enjoying Australia. It is an amazing country with so much to see. It's great you are getting to many of the sights. Melbourne has a great deal to offer so I do hope you can get to many of the wonderful places. I have been there several times as I have family there and it is a lot better when you have someone who knows the town to show you around. It's great you have a tour manager. I'm sure he will show you the best. The people at the show will be in awe when you do your "thing!" Hope all goes well and rest up. We miss you!
Love and hugs to you and your family..............Anna

{{{hugs}}}
I'm glad you are there Lisa. Lucky Peter!! ;-)
Lisa, you said you did not sleep well and I am sure it was the Energy you were picking up on to cause restlessness.
But I HAVE TO SAY..IN THOSE TWO LAST PICTURES YOU SENT IN YOUR BLOG..with the green dress, Kev and Sir Charlie...YOU LOOK TOTALLY RESTED AND BEAUTIFUL. I believe you said it was the "Universe" night. You totally fooled me. You looked amazingly at Peace.
Have fun as you do and have great shows. Lots of hugs and love,

You are amazing
It's lovely to hear that you are enjoying your time here in Australia. Hopefully next time you come back my hubby and I will be able to catch your show in Melbourne... or if you could do a show in Geelong, that would be so so awesome!
Hoping your shows will be taped so we can watch it later. I'm sure they'll be such a blast.
Have a fantastic time with your shows.
